Theo-Ben Gurirab was a Namibian politician who served in various senior government positions. He served as the second Prime Minister of Namibia from 28 August 2002 to 20 March 2005, following the demotion and subsequent resignation of Hage Geingob. Previously he was the country's first Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1990 to 2002, and was President of the United Nations General Assembly from 1999 to 2000. He was Speaker of the National Assembly of Namibia from 2005 to 2015, when he was replaced by Peter Katjavivi. Gurirab ultimately resigned from politics in 2015.
Khorixas is a constituency in the Kunene Region of northwestern Namibia. Its district capital is the town of Khorixas, its population in 2004 was 10,906. As of 2020, it has 8,788 registered voters.
Hidipo Livius Hamutenya was a Namibian politician. A long time leading member of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO), Hamutenya was a member of the Cabinet of Namibia from independence in 1990 to 2004, serving in several important ministerial portfolios. He was defeated in a bid for the party's presidential nomination in 2004 and left SWAPO to form an opposition group, the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP), in 2007. He was elected to the National Assembly of Namibia with RDP in the 2009 general election. He was forced to step down as RDP president on 28 February 2015 and rejoined SWAPO on 28 August 2015.
Nahas Gideon Angula is a Namibian politician who served as the third Prime Minister of Namibia from 21 March 2005 to 4 December 2012. He was succeeded by Hage Geingob in a cabinet reshuffle after the 2012 SWAPO Party congress. He subsequently served as Minister of Defence from 2012 to 2015.

Gaob Dr. Justus ǀUruhe ǁGaroëb is the Gaob (King) of the ǂNūkhoe ǁAes as of 1977 [year of customary designation] and is the longest serving supreme traditional leader in recorded history. Historical accounts have it that most gaogu (kings) reigned for 25 years (average), whilst the nation celebrated the Sapphire Anniversary of the ǁGaroëb dynasty. Benjamin Ulenga is a Namibian trade unionist, politician, and diplomat. In the 1990s, he served under the SWAPO government as a deputy minister and as an ambassador, but he left SWAPO in 1998 and founded an opposition party, the Congress of Democrats (CoD), in 1999. He was a member of the National Assembly of Namibia from 2000 to 2015 and led the CoD until 2015.
Khorixas is a town with about 6,000 inhabitants in the southern part of the Kunene Region, Namibia. It was the capital of the Damaraland bantustan before Namibia's independence. It is the administrative capital of Khorixas Constituency. Most of the inhabitants are from the Damara ethnic group. The town is located near the Petrified Forest, Khorixas - a deposit of petrified wood and well known tourist attraction of Namibia. The Twyfelfontein valley, known for its rock art, is also accessible from Khorixas.

She has served as Deputy Speaker of Parliament since 2010.
Sesfontein Constituency is an electoral constituency in the Kunene Region of Namibia. Its district capital is the settlement of Sesfontein. The constituency had a population of 7,358 in 2004. As of 2020, it has 5,614 registered voters.
Reverend Willem Konjore was a Namibian politician. He was a member and a deputy speaker of the National Assembly of Namibia, and served in cabinet from 2005 to 2010.
Hans Gabriel Booys was a Namibian politician. A member of SWAPO, Booys was selected to the National Assembly to replace Nathaniel Maxuilili after he died in a vehicle accident. Shortly after, he was elected in his own right in the 1999 election. He was once again re-elected in the 2004 election.

Nashandi was removed from the SWAPO list for the 2009 general election because she had not registered to vote, a requirement under Namibian law. Nashandi was Namibia's ambassador to the United States of America from 2019 to 2020.
Uahekua Herunga is a Namibian politician. A member of SWAPO, Herunga was a regional coordinator for his party in the northwestern Kunene Region prior to his appointment to the 5th National Assembly of Namibia in 2009 as a choice of president Hifikepunye Pohamba. He was subsequently appointed deputy Minister of Environment and Tourism and promoted to Minister in a cabinet reshuffle in December 2012, following the fifth SWAPO congress.
Henny Hendly Seibeb is a Namibian politician and Member of Parliament who serves as Deputy Leader and Chief Strategist (DLCS) of the Landless People's Movement political party which he formed alongside Bernadus Swartbooi in December 2016.
General elections were held in Namibia on 27 November 2019. Ballots were cast using electronic voting. A total of eleven candidates ran for the presidency and fifteen political parties contested the National Assembly elections.
