Augustine Chemonges Loile Lotodo is a Kenyan who ran for Deputy President in the March 2013 Kenyan Presidential election on a NARC-Kenya ticket,as the running mate to Martha Karua. [2]
Lotodo studied economics at Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya in India and is the son of former Cabinet Minister Francis Lotodo. In 2002,he ran unsuccessfully for the Kapenguria Constituency parliamentary seat. Between 2004 and 2006,he was the Director of the Lake Victoria North Water Services Board based in Kakamega. He was a member of in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) based in Arusha,Tanzania between 2007 and 2012. [3]

Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta is a Kenyan politician who served as the fourth president of Kenya from 2013 to 2022. The son of Jomo Kenyatta,Kenya's first president,he previously served as Deputy Prime Minister from 2008 to 2013.

The Counties of Kenya are geographical units created by the 2010 Constitution of Kenya as the new units of devolved government. They replaced the previous provincial system. The establishment and executive powers of the counties is provided in Chapter Eleven of the Constitution on devolved government,the Constitution's Fourth Schedule and any other legislation passed by the Senate of Kenya concerning counties. Mary M'Mukindia MBS is a Kenyan businessperson in the petrochemicals industry,who was CEO of the National Oil Corporation of Kenya (NOCK) from 2003 to 2008. In 2015,several major newspapers implicated her in a bribery scandal connected to the failed 2013 presidential campaign of Martha Karua,but a subsequent court case found these charges to be malicious and false. As of 2018,she works as a consultant and leadership coach.
The 2018 Kenya handshake was a political truce made on 9 March 2018 between Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga. The two had been the leaders of opposing political factions amidst widespread political violence and civil unrest;they had previously faced one another in the contested 2017 Kenyan general election. Under the agreement,their political feud with an agreement that Kenyatta would support Odinga in the upcoming presidential elections. Consequently,the Azimio coalition was formed,Uhuru became its chairman,and Odinga became the presidential candidate with Martha Karua as his running mate. They lost to William Ruto,who was then Kenyatta's deputy. They challenged Ruto's victory in the Supreme Court,but Chief Justice Martha Koome said his claims did not meet the evidentiary threshold and dismissed the case. At a March 2023 protest in Nairobi they demanded an audit of the IEBC election servers.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is the current ruling political party in Kenya. Their slogan is "Kazi ni Kazi" and their symbol is a wheelbarrow. The party,initially called the Party of Development and Reforms,officially changed its name to UDA in December 2020. The party became notable in January 2021,and is allied with William Ruto,the President of Kenya. It tends to be more popular among the Kalenjin people.
The Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) was a proposed set of amendments to the Constitution of Kenya initially proposed in October 2019. In the wake of the 2017 general election annulment and subsequent re-run,incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta mandated the formation of the Presidential Taskforce on Building Bridges to Unity Advisory on 31 May 2018. The Taskforce was assigned to provide constitutional and legislative solutions in 9 broad categories:
Azimio la Umoja–One Kenya Coalition Party,popularly referred to as Azimio la Umoja,or simply Azimio,is a Kenyan political alliance and party headed by Raila Odinga. It is composed of the Orange Democratic Movement,the Jubilee Party,NARC–Kenya,KANU,and other parties. Former president Uhuru Kenyatta is the party's patron. The alliance fielded Odinga as its presidential candidate and Martha Karua as its deputy presidential candidate in the 2022 Kenyan election,which they lost.
