The Australian Volleyball League (AVL) for women is the largest national volleyball competition organized by the Australian Volleyball Federation (AVF) in women's Level and was established in 1998. [1]
In the 2019/20 AVL season, 8 teams has participated in the regular season of which 4 has qualified to the final four round : QLD Pirates, Canberra Heat, Melbourne Vipers and Adelaide Storm. The Championship title was won by Melbourne Vipers beating out QLD Pirates in a Single Decisive match with 3 – 2 score.

A-League Men is the highest-level professional men's soccer league in Australia and New Zealand. At the top of the Australian league system, it is the country's premier men's competition for the sport. A-League Men was established in 2004 as the A-League by the Football Federation Australia (FFA) as a successor to the National Soccer League (NSL) and competition commenced in August 2005. The league is currently administered by the Australian Professional Leagues (APL), contested by twelve teams; eleven based in Australia and one based in New Zealand. The men's, women's and youth leagues have now been brought together under a unified A-Leagues banner.
The Queensland Cup, currently known as the Hostplus Cup for sponsorship reasons, is the highest-level regional rugby league football competition in Queensland, Australia. It is run by the Queensland Rugby League (QRL) and is contested by fifteen teams, thirteen of which are based in Queensland, with one based in New South Wales and one in Central Province, Papua New Guinea.

William Slater is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 2000s and 2010s. Slater is the current coach of the Queensland Maroons, who he coached to victories in the 2022 and 2023 State of Origin series.
Australian rules football in Queensland was the first official football code played in 1866. The Colony of Queensland was the second after Victoria to adopt Australian rules football, just days after the rules were widely published. For two decades it was the most popular football code, however a strong desire for representative football success saw Queenslanders favour British football variants for more than a century. 120 years later in 1986 Queensland was the first state awarded a licence to have a club, the Brisbane Bears, in the national (AFL) competition, also its first privately owned club. However the Gold Coast based Bears had a detrimental effect until the 1993 redevelopment of the Brisbane Cricket Ground (Gabba). In contrast the Bears transformation into a Brisbane and traditional membership based club resulted in enormous growth, and a tripling of average AFL attendances by 1996.
The Australian Hockey League (AHL) was Australia's premier national domestic field hockey competition. Despite its non-professional nature, AHL is considered one of the strongest and most competitive national hockey leagues in the world. The AHL consists of both men's and women's competition. It includes many players from the Kookaburras and the Hockeyroos, and participating in the AHL is a selection requirement for all Australian national squad members.
Brisbane Roar Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Brisbane, Queensland and has won the domestic title on three occasions, as well as holding the longest unbeaten record of 36 league matches without defeat.
Angela Robyn Lambert was an Australian Women's Field Hockey player. She captained the under 21 Australian women's field hockey squad before entering the Hockeyroos in 1998 and in 2000 won gold at the Sydney Olympics. Angie went on to play in two more Olympic games and played over 225 games for Australia. Apart from playing in the Hockeyroos she played for the AHL Queensland Scorchers.
Gridiron Australia is the governing body of American football in Australia. It is an approved sporting association under federal government regulations and is a member of the International Federation of American Football (IFAF). The organisation was formed in 1996.
The AFL Under-19 Championships is an annual Australian national underage representative championship in Australian rules football tournament. It is seen as one of the main pathways towards being drafted into a team in the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL).
A-League Women, formerly the W-League, is the top-division women's soccer league in Australia. The W-League was established in 2008 by Football Australia and was originally composed of eight teams of which seven had an affiliation with an existing A-League Men club. The 1975 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship was the inaugural edition of the Asian Championship, a quadrennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Australian Volleyball Federation (AVF). The tournament was held in Melbourne, Australia from 17 to 28 August 1975.
The F-League was an amateur and semi-professional futsal league endorsed and supported by Football Federation Australia and administered by Football NSW. As Australia's only endorsed national competition played under full FIFA laws of the game, it was considered the highest level of futsal in the country.

The Joan McKowen Memorial Trophy is the annually awarded championship trophy, of the Australian Women's Ice Hockey League (AWIHL), to the winner of the AWIHL finals. Originally donated in 1995, the trophy is named after Joan McKowen who died September 15, 1992 and her husband Maxwell McKowen died in 2010.
Kyra Lillee Cooney-Cross is an Australian soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Hammarby IF in the Damallsvenskan and represents Australia internationally. She has previously played for Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne Victory in the W-League.

Maia Emily Bouchier is an English cricketer who currently plays for Hampshire, Southern Vipers and Southern Brave. She plays as a right-handed batter and bowls occasional right-arm medium pace. She has previously played for Middlesex, Auckland, Melbourne Stars and Western Australia. She made her international debut for the England women's cricket team in September 2021.
