Ava Dobson (born June 9, 2008) is an American racing driver [1] currently competing in the GB4 Championship for Velocity Racing Development.
After being one of five female drivers awarded with the Parella Motorsports Holdings Powering Diversity Scholarship in 2023, Dobson would make her car racing debut in the 2023 Formula 4 United States Championship driving for Jay Howard Driver Development. [2] She would finish 31st in the championship.
Towards the latter part of the 2023 USF Juniors season, Jay Howard Driver Development entered the series at the Road America round with three drivers, one of them being Dobson. [3] She had a best result of 11th in race three at Road America and finished 16th in the championship.
On September 22, 2023, Dobson announced that she would be returning to the USF Juniors to run a full season in 2024 with Jay Howard Driver Development. [4] In the race one at the second round at Barber Motorsports Park, Dobson suffered a high speed accident in which she collided head on with Bruno Ribeiro. [5] Dobson suffered injuries to her chest, back, and her pinkie finger. [6] As a result of this crash, she was not cleared to race in the upcoming races. Dobson intended to return to the car later in the season, however, she never did so.
In July 2024, Dobson announced that she would make her debut in the 2024 GB4 Championship at the second Silverstone round driving for VRD Racing. [7] This would mark her return to racing following her crash at Barber Motorsports Park.

The 2022 USF Juniors championship was the inaugural season of USF Juniors. It became the new first rung of the Road to Indy ladder. The season featured a six-round 16-race calendar, which began April 23 at Ozarks International Raceway and concluded on September 18 at the Circuit of the Americas.

The 2023 USF2000 Championshippresented by Cooper Tires was the fourteenth season of the USF2000 Championship since its revival in 2010. When the top rung of the Road to Indy ladder system, Indy Lights, was bought by Penske Entertainment in 2021 and the lower level series changed sanctioning to the United States Auto Club, changes were made to the other championships in the ladder. This, together with the Indy Lights being rebranded to Indy NXT, effectively ended the "Road to Indy" branding, with the three championships below Indy NXT now collectively called "USF Pro Championships Presented by Cooper Tires". The USF2000 Championship served as the middle rung of this ladder.
