Awwad Mohammad Al-Sharafat (born 25 December 1993) is a Jordanian middle-distance runner. [2] He competed in the 1500 metres at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing without advancing from the first round.

His personal best in the 1500 metres is 3:57.71 set in Gwangju in 2015.

Tawfiq Yusuf 'Awwad was a Lebanese writer and diplomat. His 1939 novel Al-Raghif, inspired by Arab resistance to the Turks in World War I, "was quickly recognized as a landmark in the literary expression of Arab nationalism". His only other novel, Death In Beirut, was similarly well-regarded. 'Awwad also wrote poetry, essays, and plays. He was killed in a bombing in 1989 during the Lebanese Civil War.

Arabi Musa Awwad, kunya Abu Fahd, was a Palestinian communist politician. He was a member of the Central Committee of the Palestinian National Liberation League and later the Jordanian Communist Party. Awwad was designated as secretary of the West Bank section of the Jordanian Communist Party after the Six-Day War in 1967 and emerged as a key leader of the Palestinian National Front. He spent over a decade in Jordanian and Israeli prisons and detention centers and was deported to Jordan in 1973. Awwad was elected to the Palestinian National Council and included in the Palestinian Central Council. In 1982, he founded the Revolutionary Palestinian Communist Party and became its general secretary. Awwad died in Amman, Jordan, in 2015.

Yemaneberhan "Yeman" Crippa is an Ethiopian-born Italian long-distance runner. He won the gold medal in the 10,000 metres and bronze for the 5000 metres at the European Athletics Championships in 2022, and bronze in the 10,000 m in 2018. Crippa claimed four medals in the age-group races at the European Cross Country Championships and a bronze in the senior race in 2019.
