Ayesha Mousumi is a Bangladeshi pop singer and model. [1] [2] [3] She began her music career in 2012 after participating in the reality show "Power Voice" 2012 on Channel 9, which brought her recognition in the Bangladeshi music scene. [4] [5] [6] Since then, she has released several albums and singles such as "Makeup Shundori," "Bolona," "Char Okkhore Bhalobashi," and "Ovimani Mon" etc. [7] [8] She is also an enlisted artist of Bangladesh Television (BTV) [9]

Career

Ayesha began learning music when she was six years old. Her mother enrolled her at Shishu Academy, where she completed a two-year music course. Later, she studied Nazrul Sangeet and folk music at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. [10] When she was in seventh grade, she started learning classical music with Ustad Subir Chakraborty. Ayesha Mousumi entered the music industry in 2012 through the reality show "Power Voice". [10] Her first original song was "Sada Kalo". [11] In 2015, she became known for the song "Chander Gaye Chand Legese," in collaboration with DJ Rahat. [12] Since then, she has regularly worked on albums, singles, and film soundtracks. Some of the films she has lent her voice to include Captain Khan, Shesh Bazi, and Poran. [13] [14] Ayesha has also performed in various concerts both in Bangladesh and abroad. [15] [16] [17] She made her acting debut opposite Ziaul Faruq Apurba in a solo drama. [18] [19]

In celebration of 50 years of Bangladesh's independence and the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, 50 artistes including Ayesha Mousumi, contributed to a new rendition of the national anthem, Amar Sonar Bangla . [20] [21]

Indian singer Neha Kakkar performed in Dhaka in 2016. The event opened with performances by Ayesha Mousumi, and Bangladeshi artists Anika and Shafi Mondol. Ayesha Mousumi began the concert with the song 'De De Pal Tule De'. [22]

Early life

Ayesha Mousumi completed her honors in Graphic Design from Shanto-Mariam University. [10] In 2022, Ayesha married Taslim Mazumder through a virtual Zoom call. [23] [24] [25] [26]

He started singing again in 2018 at the studios and on stages and some of his folk and Blues songs became very much popular among Bangladeshi and Indian Audience. Some of his top Folk singles are "Binodini Rai" which is a duet song, sung along with Sampa Biswas from India, "Amare Dia Dilam Tomare", "Tumi Dome Dom" etc. He got CJFB Award in 2020 for his Single "Horsho". He was recognized with Safekeeper Channel i Digital Award in 2021 for his song "Amare Dia Dilam Tomare". Elina Shammi is a Bangladeshi model, presenter and actress. She made her debut in Shah Alam Kiron's '71 Er Ma Jononi in 2014. Known for her role in the highest grossing Bangladeshi film of all time Priyotoma and Mujib: The Making of a Nation, where she portrayed as Khaleda Zia, the former prime minister of Bangladesh.

"O Priyotoma" is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language duet song sung by Balam and Somnur Monir Konal and composed by Akassh from the 2023 soundtrack album Priyotoma of the film of the same name, starring Shakib Khan and Idhika Paul. The song is written by Asif Iqbal. The song was released on 27 June 2023. The music video for the song was released on the same day under the music label Tiger Media.

<i>Rajkumar</i> (2024 film) 2024 Bangladeshi film

Rajkumar is a 2024 Bangladeshi romance drama film directed by Himel Ashraf and produced by Arshad Adnan under the banner of his Versatile Media. The film revolves around the story of love, family relationships and a dreamy young man's journey from Bangladesh to America featuring Shakib Khan along with Courtney Coffey in the lead roles.
