Seyid Ali Imadaddin Nasimi, commonly known as Nasimi, was a 14th and 15th century Hurufi poet who composed poetry in his native Azerbaijani, as well as Persian and Arabic. He is regarded as one of the greatest Turkic poets of his time and one of the most prominent figures in Azerbaijani literature.

Shakhandan is the oldest of the three surviving ancient cemeteries of the city of Shamakhi, Azerbaijan. It is located in the southwestern part of the city. The brother of the famous 15th century poet Nasimi, the poet Shakhandan, is supposedly buried here, and the cemetery bears his name.
