The Swiss Handball Association (SHV) is the governing body of handball and beach handball in Switzerland. Founded in 1974, SHV is affiliated to the International Handball Federation and European Handball Federation. SHV is also affiliated to the Swiss Olympic Association. It is based in Olten.

The 2019–20 BSC Young Boys season was the club's 95th season in existence and the club's 24th consecutive season in the top flight of Swiss football. In addition to the domestic league, Young Boys participated in this season's editions of the Swiss Cup and the UEFA Champions League. The season covered the period from 1 July 2019 to 30 August 2020.

The 2020–21 Grasshopper Club Zürich season is the club's second consecutive season in the Swiss Challenge League, having been relegated from the 2018–19 Swiss Super League one year earlier, after playing in the top tier for 67 years. The season started on 18 September 2020 and is scheduled to end on 30 May 2021. Grasshopper Club Zürich also participate in the Swiss Cup. The first game was played on 12 September 2020.
