The term usually applies to people who do some combination of raising field crops, orchards, vineyards, poultry, or other livestock. A farmer might own the farmed land or might work as a laborer on land owned by others, but in advanced economies, a farmer is usually a farm owner, while employees of the farm are known as farm workers, or farmhands. However, in the not so distant past, a farmer was a person who promotes or improves the growth of by labor and attention, land or crops or raises animals.

BJP Mahila Morcha is the women's wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Vijaya Rahatkar, former Mayor of Aurangabad is the national president of the wing. On 3 July 2015, Daggubati Purandeswari was appointed in-charge of BJP Mahila Morcha.

BJP Minority Morcha is the official minority wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party, one of two major political parties in India. In November 2011, the Minority Morcha asked the party leadership to drop its demand for a Uniform Civil Code, but it stood by the party's stand of opposing any reservation based on religious affiliation. However, in October 2015, the Morcha endorsed the views of Union Law Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda, who stated that the Uniform Civil Code was necessary.
