BNS Issa Khan is a naval base of the Bangladeshi Navy in Chittagong district of Bangladesh. It is the largest base of Bangladesh Navy. [1]
Before the Bangladesh Liberation War, the naval base was named as PNS Bakhtiar. After independence the base was named BNS Chittagong. Later, on December 10, 1974, Chittagong naval base was renamed as BNS Issa Khan by the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, named after the medieval Baro-Bhuyan chieftain Isa Khan. On 8 November 2016 President Abdul Hamid awarded National Standard to BNS Issa Khan. [2]
The BNS Issa Khan is currently under the command of the Commander Chattogram Naval Area (COMCHIT). About 1800 personnel serve at Isa Khan. Issa Khan was established for the training of officers and sailors, as well as operating as a naval base. Several training schools are located here. [1]

Musharraf Husain Khan was a Bangladesh Navy rear admiral who has served as the chief of the Bangladesh Navy from 7 November 1973 to 3 November 1979. After the Bangladesh war of Independence, Admiral Khan was appointed as the 1st chief of the naval staff of the Bangladesh Navy in November 1973 by the Prime Minister Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. During his tenure, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 10 December 1974 commissioned Bangladesh Navy's largest training base BNS Issa Khan and also handed over "naval ensign" to Bangladesh Navy on the same day.

The Khulna Shipyard Limited(Bengali: খুলনা শিপইয়ার্ড লিমিটেড) is a Bangladeshi state-owned defense contractor based in Khulna, Bangladesh. It is located on 68.97 acres (27.91 ha) of land at Labanchara, Khulna, Bangladesh. It is about 45 km north from the Port of Mongla. The shipyard has the capacity to build steel / aluminium ships up to 90 m length and 700 tons lightweight. The shipyard has a slipway with a capacity to dock and undock vessels up to 700 tons lightweight and overall length of 84 meters.

BNS Sher-e-Bangla is the first all service naval base being developed for the Bangladesh Navy at Rabnabad, Patuakhali. With an area of 700 acres. this is the largest naval base of the Bangladesh Navy. Of that area, 300 acres of land have been developed for naval base and 400 acres is devoted for naval aviation and submarine operations. It is named after the 1st Prime Minister of Bengal, A. K. Fazlul Huq, who was known as Sher-e-Bangla or the Tiger of Bengal.
