Babanloma is a town in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Nigeria.
It is situated along Ilorin-Jebba old road and bounded in the North-east by Edu L.G.A, South-East by Ilorin-East L.G.A and North-West by Moro L.G.A.
The town is about 75km from Ilorin, the state capital, and 45km from Jebba, a border town between kwara and Niger State.
Babanloma is known as a stopover town, especially when the major road that linked Niger State and Kwara State passed through it. It is one of the first towns in the area with tremendous developments and social infrastructures such as electricity, pipe-borne water, good road networks, primary and secondary educational institutions, health care centres and more. The town is endowed with a major Osin River, which serves the town and the surrounding towns and villages.
The people of Babanloma belong to the Igbomina extract of Yoruba tribe with their roots historically in Oyo

Jebba town is a Yoruba city in Kwara State, Nigeria. It has views of River Niger, and as of 2007 has an estimated population of 22,411. Northernmost territory of the Yoruba culture is terminated by a landscape feature at Niger River near Jebba. The island of Jebba in the Niger River still retains a traditional Nupe settlement, a people who retain significant fraction of the town's population, Jebba being the point where Niger, flowing almost north-south between divides countries of the two historically affiliated Nupe from the Yoruba.
The Ìgbómìnà are a subgroup of the Yoruba ethnic group, which originates from the north central and southwest Nigeria. They speak a dialect called Ìgbómìnà or Igbonna, classified among the Central Yoruba of the three major Yoruba dialectical areas. The Ìgbómìnà spread across what is now southern Kwara State and northern Osun State. Peripheral areas of the dialectical region have some similarities to the adjoining Ekiti, Ijesha and Oyo dialects.

The Jebba Hydroelectric Power Station, also Jebba Power Station, is a hydroelectric power plant across the Niger River in Nigeria. It has a power generating capacity of 578.4 megawatts, enough to power over 364,000 homes. The plant was commissioned on 13 April 1985, although commercial energy production began in 1983.

Mohammed Alabi Lawal ; January 24, 1946 – November 15, 2006) was a Nigerian naval officer who was military governor of Ogun State between December 1987 and August 1990 during the military administration of General Ibrahim Babangida. He was one of the pioneers of the Nigeria Navy Secondary School Abeokuta.The then Navy Captain Mohammed Lawal, invited the Nigerian Navy to consider a location of the defunct St Leo's Teachers' Training College at Ibara Abeokuta (www.nnssab.net)on a hilly Onikolobo site. This premises had been abandoned and merely serve as a route to the Catholic Compound and was also used for administering a newly conceived secondary school in that name. The Nigerian Navy considered the site and found it suitable. After the return to democracy in 1999 he was elected governor of Kwara State, holding office from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2003.

The 2023 Kwara State gubernatorial election was held on 18 March 2023, to elect the incumbent Governor of Kwara State, concurrent with elections to the Kwara State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election — which was postponed from its original 11 March date — was held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (APC) was re-elected by a 25.6% margin over PDP nominee Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi.
The 2023 Nigerian Senate elections in Kwara State was held on 25 February 2023, to elect the 3 federal Senators from Kwara State, one from each of the state's three senatorial districts. The elections coincided with the 2023 presidential election, as well as other elections to the Senate and elections to the House of Representatives; with state elections being held two weeks later. Primaries were held between 4 April and 9 June 2022.
Arandun is a town in Irepodun LGA, Kwara State, Nigeria. It is located near the state boundary with Osun, about 66 kilometres southeast of the state capital Ilorin, and 18 kilometres southwest of the area capital Omu-Aran.
