Babatunde O. Gbadamosi (born 15 October 1967), is a Nigerian businessman, real estate developer and politician. [1] [2] [3]
Gbadamosi was born on October 15, 1967, in England to the family of the late Fatai Gbadamosi and Alhaja Jemilat Gbadamosi. Gbadamosi is first of the thirteen children of His late father, Fatai Gbadamosi. Gbadamosi's early life was reflective of the saying, “it takes a village to raise a child”.
Between 1972 and 1978, Gbadamosi Attended K. Kotun Memorial Nursery and Primary School, Surulere, Lagos. He Attended Government College Lagos, Eric Moore Road, Surulere, from 1978 To 1981 then moved to Government College Victoria Island and finished at Government College Ikorodu In 1985. [4] He then attended the now defunct Lagos State School of Basic Studies, Agindingbi, Ikeja. Gbadamosi attended The Lagos State University (LASU) from 1986 to 1989.
In 1994, Gbadamosi joined the UK Branch of the National Conscience Party, which he represented in NADECO Forum (UK), a broad coalition of political groups and NGOs formed to help return Nigeria to democracy. As an active member of the forum, he helped organise the epochal Nigerian Democracy Week, culminating on June 12, 1995.
On his return to Nigeria in 2007, he supported the candidacy of PDP's Senator Musiliu Obanikoro for the Governorship of Lagos State, and formally joined the PDP 2008.
He contested for the party's nomination to run as candidate for Governor of Lagos State in 2011 and again In 2015. [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] He joined the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in 2017, and won the party's primary election in October 2018. He was the ADP candidate in the 2019 Lagos State Gubernatorial election in which he was the second runner up. [13] [14] [15] Gbadamosi rejoined the People's Democratic Party in March 2020. [16] [17] On September 5, 2020, he was announced as the candidate for the People's Democratic party in the October 31, 2020, Lagos East Senatorial district Bye-election. [18] The court fined him after he lost at the tribunal. [19]
On his arrival in the UK in 1990, Gbadamosi started out working in small retail and service businesses, worked at Royal Mail as a mailman for a while, then London Underground as a station assistant, and did a stint as a mini-cab driver, and then got bitten by the entrepreneurial bug. He started out with his own cab firm, went into recruitment, and then into IT recruitment and finally into IT Training, Consultancy and Certification.

Lagos State is a state in southwestern Nigeria. Of the 36 states, it is both the most populous and smallest in area. Bounded to the south by the Bight of Benin and to the west by the international border with Benin, Lagos State borders Ogun State to the northeast making it the only Nigerian state to border only one other state. Named for the city of Lagos—the most populous city in Africa—the state was formed from the Western Region and the former Federal Capital Territory on 27 May 1967.
Olufunke Ayotunde Akindele-Bello popularly known as Funke Akindele or Jenifa, is a Nigerian filmmaker, actress, director, producer and politician. Akindele starred in the sitcom I Need to Know from 1998 to 2002, and in 2009, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. for her role in Jenifa, which brought her into fame. He was the 2019 Lagos State gubernatorial election candidate for PDP in the 2019 general elections.

Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is a Nigerian politician who has served as the governor of Lagos State since 2019.
The 2019 Lagos gubernatorial election was conducted on 9 March to choose the Governor of Lagos State. The election was held concurrently with various state level elections. Incumbent APC Governor Akinwunmi Ambode lost to the APC flag bearer Babajide Sanwo-Olu at a direct primary election in October 2018 and hence ineligible to run for second term under APC. Babajide Sanwo-Olu won in a landslide against Jimi Agbaje of the PDP who had previously run unsuccessfully for Lagos state governor twice. From 1999, Lagos state has been governed by AD, AC, then ACN, three parties which subsequently formed part of the coalition that birthed the APC in 2013.
An election for Governor of Lagos State took place on 11 April 2015. All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Akinwunmi Ambode, who is a former accountant general of Lagos State, defeated People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Jimi Agbaje and Alliance for Democracy (AD) candidate Bolaji Ogunseye. The governor and deputy governor are elected on the same ticket.
The 2019 Kogi State gubernatorial election occurred on 16 November 2019. Incumbent APC Governor Yahaya Bello won re-election for a second term, defeating PDP Musa Wada and several minor party candidates.
The 2014 Osun State gubernatorial election occurred in Nigeria on 9 August 2014, the APC nominee Rauf Aregbesola won re-election, defeating Iyiola Omisore of the PDP.
The 2007 Lagos State gubernatorial election occurred on 14 April 2007. Babatunde Raji Fashola of the AC defeated other candidates, by polling 599,300 votes, PDP's Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro was closest contender with 383,956 votes.
The 2023 Nigerian gubernatorial elections were held for state governors in 31 out of 36 Nigerian states. All but three elections were held on 18 March—concurrent with elections to every state house of assembly, three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections—while the Imo State, Kogi State, and Bayelsa State elections will be held on 11 November. The last regular gubernatorial elections for all states were in 2019. All states have a two term limit for Governors which makes 18 incumbent governors ineligible for re-election.
The 2023 Lagos State gubernatorial election took place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Lagos State, concurrent with elections to the Lagos State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—was held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was eligible to run for re-election and was renominated by his party.
The 2019 Nigerian Senate election in Lagos State held on February 23, 2019, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Lagos State. Solomon Olamilekan Adeola representing Lagos West, Oluremi Tinubu representing Lagos Central. The late Osinowo Sikiru Adebayo represented Lagos East but his death brought Tokunbo Abiru to replace him after a bye-election in 2020. All won on the platform of All Progressives Congress.
The 2019 Nigerian House of Representatives elections in Lagos State was held on February 23, 2019, to elect members of the House of Representatives to represent Lagos State, Nigeria. The election for Ojo federal constituency was declared inconclusive due to collation of results allegedly being interrupted by accusation and counter-accusation by agents of the political parties. On the 10th of March 2019, INEC declared PDP's Tajudeen Obasa, winner of the election.

He was the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party for Lagos State in the 2023 gubernatorial election which he finished runner-up, losing to incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. He was the senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the Lagos West senatorial district in the 2019 Senate elections.
