Career

After the release of her mixtape From Dusk 'til Dawn in 2017, Baby Rose gained attention, receiving co-signs from artists such as SZA, Kehlani, and J. Cole. In 2019, she was featured on projects like Matt Martian's The Last Party, Big K.R.I.T.'s K.R.I.T. Iz Here , and Dreamville's Revenge of the Dreamers III compilation. [6] In 2019, she went on the Shea Butter Baby tour with Ari Lennox. [7]

She released her debut album To Myself on August 22, 2019, [8] which was distributed by Human Re Sources. [9] In a 2020 Harper's Bazaar feature, Baby Rose expressed that her debut album, resonates as more than just an introduction to her music but also an of embrace her individuality. [10] On May 31, 2020, a remix of her song "Show You" was featured on Episode 8, "Lowkey Happy", of the fourth season of HBO's Insecure . [11] In September 2020, the deluxe version of the album was released by Island Records. [12]

In April 2023, Rose released her second studio album, Through and Through , via Secretly Canadian. [13] The record was praised for its intimate songwriting and soulful vocal delivery, further establishing her as a distinct voice in contemporary R&B. [14] Critics highlighted the album’s blend of vulnerability and strength, with outlets like NPR and Pitchfork commending its raw emotional depth and sonic cohesion. [15] To support the album, Rose embarked on a headlining tour across the United States, performing at venues such as the Troubadour in Los Angeles and Bowery Ballroom in New York City. [16] The following year, she collaborated with Canadian band BadBadNotGood on the EP Slow Burn , released in April 2024. [17] The project received critical acclaim for its Muscle Shoals–inspired warmth, analog production, and Rose’s evocative performance style. [18] She subsequently toured domestically with BadBadNotGood, including a stop in Toronto, [19] before joining Vince Staples as the special guest on his Black in America Tour. [20] In addition, Rose announced a West Coast headlining run for fall 2025, continuing to expand her presence as one of the most compelling voices in modern soul. [21]
