Badagada Government High School, Bhubaneswar, is a high school in the capital city of Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The school was started in 1963 by the Government of Odisha. It is considered as one of the oldest government schools in the city of Bhubaneswar along with Capital High School, Bhubaneswar, which was established a decade before it. In 2013, Badagada Government High School, Bhubaneswar celebrated its Golden Jubilee. The school is located at the corner of old village called Badagada and a new housing complex built by Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA).

Odia literature is the literature written in the Odia language and predominantly originates in the Indian state of Odisha. The language is also spoken by minority populations of the neighbouring states of Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The region has been known at different stages of history as Kalinga, Udra, Utkala or Hirakhanda. During British rule, however, Odisha lost its political identity and formed parts of the Bengal and Madras Presidencies. The present state of Odisha was formed in 1936. The modern Odia language is formed mostly from Pali words with significant Sanskrit influence. About 28% of modern Odia words have Adivasi origins, and about 2% have Hindustani (Hindi/Urdu), Persian, or Arabic origins. The earliest written texts in the language are about thousand years old. The first Odia newspaper was Utkala Deepika first published on 4 August 1866.

Chakulia panda is a sect of people from the Indian state of Odisha who are mostly found to live in the southern Odisha. The male members of this sect walk from door to door and recite religious poems, from early Odia literature and receive rice in return from the households. and "suanga" They are believed to be a "lower class" "dignified" brahmin. A Chakulia panda would be seen putting a mark of white sandalwood on the forehead, carrying a "chatri", and walking with a bag of rice on his shoulder singing songs. Offering rice to Chakulia panda is considered holier as compared to hundred Brahmins. They are heard reciting "Rama, Parasurama, Dasarathanandana Rama, Janakanandini Rama" while visiting houses. He never asks for alms during the entire course of his visit and accepts whatever is offered. Slowly this cultural presentation is diminishing delimiting the visit of Chakulia panda to houses and of them losing their livelihood.

Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya is a music school-cum-educational institution in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. India. It offers 7 years of education and training, and includes a two year Higher Secondary School Certificate, a three year Bachelor of Arts, and a two year Master of Arts. Students are educated in the liberal arts and the performing arts at the same time. It has several departments in the performing arts that students can choose to pursue, such as dance, drama, classical vocal, different musical instruments etc.
Mardala is a percussive instrument native to the east Indian state of Odisha. It is traditionally used as the primary percussive instrument in the ancient classical music of the state, Odissi music. The instrument is different from other instruments that might have similar names in the Indian subcontinent due to its unique construction, acoustic features and traditional playing technique.
Gopal Chandra Panda is a Guru of Odissi classical music, vocalist, researcher and composer. He has authored several treatises on Odissi music, such as Odissi Raga Ratnabali, Odissi Raga Darpana and more. He is acclaimed for his meticulous collection of hundreds of traditional Odissi compositions spanning decades and his effort in recovering, codifying and documenting several authentic Odissi ragas from ancient treatises & veteran musicians. He has performed in several prestigious music festivals across the country and is the founder of the Gopal Panda Odissi Academy, an institution for research and training of Odissi music. Panda's compositions are widely sung in Odissi music recitals and employed in Odissi dance. In 2011, Panda received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for his contributions to Odissi music, from President Pranab Mukherjee.
Ramhari Das is an eminent Odissi music Guru, professor, singer, musicologist, scholar and composer. Well-known for his renditions, compositions, lecture-demonstrations and writings, Das has served as a professor and led the Odissi vocal department in some of the most prestigious institutions of musical education in Odisha, including the Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya and the Utkal University of Culture. He is the founder of Ramhari Das Odissi Gurukula at Biragobindapur, Puri. For his contributions to Odissi music, Das received the Sangeet Natak Akademi award in 2008.
