Akbar Al Baker is a Qatari businessman who was the former CEO of Qatar Airways. He was also the chairman of Qatar Tourism until October 22,2023. Under Qatar Airways Group,Al-Baker was also the CEO of Hamad International Airport,which opened in 2014.

Hamad International Airport is an international airport in Qatar,and the home base of the national flag carrier airline,Qatar Airways. Al-Mayassa was declared the most influential person in art on Art+Auction's top-10 list and ArtReview's Power 100,and prominently appears on the Time 100,and Forbes' The World's 100 Most Powerful Women. She was listed in the 'Top 100 most powerful Arabs' from 2014 to 2017 and 2021 by Gulf Business. Al-Mayassa serves as Chairperson of Qatar Museums,and it was reported by Bloomberg that her annual acquisition budget on behalf of the organization is estimated at $1 billion.
Bilateral relations exist between the Commonwealth of Australia and the state of Qatar. There are 3,000 Australians in Qatar. In 2012,Qatar opened an embassy in Canberra,Australia and an Ambassador to Qatar and the UAE was appointed,the first time an Ambassador to Qatar has been appointed. In 2016,Australia opened an embassy in Doha,Qatar. The Australian ambassador to Qatar is Shane Flanagan.
Women in Qatar are subject to the country's male guardianship law. Qatar is the only remaining country in the Gulf region with such laws,Women in Qatar were enfranchised at the same time as men. Labour force participation rates of Qatari women are above the world average and among the highest in the Arab World,which comes mainly as a result of an increasing number of Qatari women who are attaining academic degrees.
The Qatar Museums (QM) Public Art Department is responsible for overseeing the installation of artwork by renowned artists in the public realm in Qatar,creating an artist residency program for young local artists to help them develop their skills,organizing exhibitions featuring international artists and developing an online community of both local and international creative talents. The QM intends to develop Qatar into a world-class cultural destination,notably in modern and contemporary art.
Al Maha Airways was a planned subsidiary airline of Qatar Airways to serve the Saudi Arabian travel market. It was based initially at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah,and then at Hamad International Airport in Doha. The beginning of operations was postponed several times following its initial announcement in 2014,and then cancelled entirely by February 2017 following issues obtaining its operational license and the Qatar diplomatic crisis.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jabr Al Thani is a Qatari diplomat,economist,and politician who has been serving as the Prime Minister of Qatar since 7 March 2023 and Minister of Foreign Affairs since 2016. He has also been serving as Chairman of the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) since 2014,and is a member of Qatar's Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investments (SCEAI) since 2014.
China –Qatar relations are the bilateral relations between the People's Republic of China and the State of Qatar. China has an embassy in Doha,while Qatar has an embassy in Beijing. With diplomatic relations first formed in 1988,Qatar is a strategic ally of China,and the two countries maintain a strong relationship.
Jordan –Qatar relations are the bilateral relations between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the State of Qatar. Diplomatic relations were established in 1972. Jordan has an embassy in Doha. Qatar also has an embassy in Amman.
