The People's Justice Party;often known simply as KEADILAN or PKR,is a reformist political party in Malaysia formed on 3 August 2003 through a merger of the party's predecessor,the National Justice Party,with the socialist Malaysian People's Party. The party's predecessor was founded by Wan Azizah Wan Ismail during the height of the Reformasi movement on 4 April 1999 after the arrest of her husband,former Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The party is one of main partners of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.

He previously served as the 10th Menteri Besar of Perak from March 2008 to the collapse of his administration in February 2009,represented Changkat Jering from May 2013 to May 2018 and Pasir Panjang from March 2008 to May 2013 in the legislative assembly,and represented Bukit Gantang in the Dewan Rakyat from April 2009 to May 2013.
Muhammad bin Muhammad Taib,also fondly known as Mat Taib and also Mat Tyson,is a Malaysian politician who currently is a member of United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),a major component of Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He was the former Menteri Besar of Selangor and the former Rural and Regional Development Minister. Muhammad was also the former UMNO vice-president.
Manikavasagam s/o Sundram is a Malaysian politician and social activist who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kapar from March 2008 to May 2013. He is a member of the Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM),a component party of formerly Barisan Alternatif (BA) coalition and was a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR),a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and BA coalitions. He has served as the Vice President of PRM since March 2024.
General elections were held in Malaysia on Wednesday,9 May 2018. At stake were all 222 seats in the Dewan Rakyat,the lower house of parliament. The 13th Parliament was dissolved by Prime Minister Najib Razak on 7 April 2018. This is a list of the members of the Dewan Rakyat of the 13th Parliament of Malaysia. The opposition coalition Pakatan Rakyat that contested the general elections in 2013 was dissolved after series of disagreements between two main parties,Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS). A new opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan was formed by the DAP,People's Justice Party (PKR) and newly formed party National Trust Party (AMANAH),consisting of ex-PAS members. Several ex-UMNO members have also formed their own party Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) and have signed an electoral pact with Pakatan Harapan to contest the future general election and ensure straight fights against Barisan Nasional. On 20 March 2017 BERSATU officially became a member of Pakatan Harapan.
The "Kajang Move" was a political manoeuvre attempted in Malaysia in 2014. The manoeuvre sought to topple the 14th Menteri Besar of Selangor,Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim,and install the national opposition leader Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim as his replacement. The move was initiated by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Strategy Director,then Vice President cum Secretary General,Rafizi Ramli. The attempt resulted in a nine-month political crisis within the state of Selangor and the Pakatan Rakyat coalition,that also involved the palace of Selangor. The crisis concluded with the appointment of PKR's Deputy President,Azmin Ali,as the 15th Menteri Besar of Selangor.
The Alliance of Hope is a Malaysian political coalition consisting of centre-left political parties which was formed in 2015 to succeed the Pakatan Rakyat coalition. It has lead a grand coalition government since November 2022,having previously led a single-coalition government from May 2018 to February 2020.
The 14th Kedah State election was held on 9 May 2018,concurrently with the 2018 Malaysian general election. The previous state election was held on 5 May 2013. The state assemblymen is elected to 5 years term each.
The 2020–2022 Malaysian political crisis was triggered after several Members of Parliament (MPs) of the 14th Malaysian Parliament changed party support,leading to the loss of a parliamentary majority,the collapse of two successive coalition governments,and the resignation of two Prime Ministers. The political crisis culminated in a 2022 snap general election and eventual formation of a coalition government.

The election was conducted by the Malaysian Election Commission. The state election was held concurrently with the 2008 Malaysian general election.

Polling took place in 36 constituencies throughout the Malaysian state of Kedah,with each electing a State Assemblyman to the Kedah State Legislative Assembly. The election was conducted by the Malaysian Election Commission. The state election was held concurrently with the 2013 Malaysian general election.
