Bakhtier Farouk is an engineer who has been the J. Harland Billings Professor at Drexel University since 2004, [1] and is also a published author. [2] He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. [1]
Farouk earned his Bachelor of Science at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1975. He was employed as a lecturer in their Mechanical Engineering Department from 1975 to 1976,and then pursued graduate training with the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Houston,Texas in 1976,ultimately earning his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Delaware in 1978 and 1981. Subsequently,hired by Drexel University's Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics department as an assistant professor,he advanced to the ranks of associate professor and professor,respectively,in 1987 and 1989,and was then appointed as Drexel's J. Harland Billings Professor of Mechanical Engineering in 2004. [1]

Wyatt Endowed Chair in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University,College Station,Texas,USA.[1] He is an authoritative figure in the broad area of mechanics and one of the researchers responsible for the development of the Finite Element Method (FEM). He has made significant seminal contributions in the areas of finite element method,plate theory,solid mechanics,variational methods,mechanics of composites,functionally graded materials,fracture mechanics,plasticity,biomechanics,classical and non-Newtonian fluid mechanics,and applied functional analysis. Reddy has over 620 journal papers and 20 books and has given numerous national and international talks. He served as a member of the International Advisory Committee at ICTACEM,in 2001 and keynote addressing in 2014.[2][3]

Jan Drewes Achenbach was a professor emeritus at Northwestern University. Achenbach was born in the northern region of the Netherlands,in Leeuwarden.
