Ball at the Savoy (German: Ball im Savoy) is a 1935 Austrian-Hungarian musical film directed by Steve Sekely and starring Gitta Alpar, Hans Jaray and Rosy Barsony. [1] Part of the tradition of operetta films, it is based on the 1932 work of the same title by Paul Abraham. It was remade the following year in Britain.
The film's sets were designed by the art director Marton Vincze. The film was shot at the Hunnia Film Studios in Budapest.

The film was shot at the Sievering Studios in Vienna with art direction by Julius von Borsody. The film is a biopic of the composer Franz Schubert (1797–1828). It was Forst's directorial debut. A British version was made called Unfinished Symphony. The German title refers to the first line of the Lied "Ständchen" (Serenade) from Schubert's collection Schwanengesang, "the most famous serenade in the world", which Eggerth performs in the film.
Fräulein Lilli or Miss Lilli is a 1936 Austrian comedy film directed by Hans Behrendt, Robert Wohlmuth and Max Neufeld. It starred Franciska Gaal, Hans Jaray and S.Z. Sakall. It was Gaal's last European film, although she did briefly start work in 1946 on Renee XIV, before it was abandoned during filming.
Hans Jaray (1906–1990) was an Austrian actor and playwright. He also wrote and directed several television films. Jaray starred as a leading man in a number of 1930s films, such as the Schubert biopic Gently My Songs Entreat (1933). Jaray emigrated to the United States following the Anchluss of 1938, but returned to Vienna after the Second World War.
