Ballard School, also known as Ballard Elementary School, is a historic school building in Brunswick, Georgia. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 27, 2004. It is located at 325 Old Jesup Highway. The Ballard Elementary School was built in ca. 1910s and was known as the County Community School. In the 1920s an annex was connected to the original building by a breezeway. The school was renovated in 2009 and is rented out for conferences and meetings. [2]
Moultrie is the county seat and largest city of Colquitt County, Georgia, United States. It is the third largest city in Southwest Georgia, behind Thomasville and Albany. As of the 2010 census, Moultrie's population was 14,268. It was originally known as Ochlockoney until it was incorporated by the Georgia General Assembly in 1859. Moultrie is an agricultural community set in the Southern Rivers part of Georgia. It is well known for its antique shops and has been styled "The Antique Capital of South Georgia". Moultrie is the home of Former US Senator Saxby Chambliss. Downtown Moultrie contains the Moultrie Commercial Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The district includes the Colquitt Theatre.
Candler Park is a 55-acre city park located at 585 Candler Park Drive NE, in Atlanta, Georgia. It is named after Coca-Cola magnate Asa Griggs Candler, who donated this land to the city in 1922. The park features a nine-hole golf course, a swimming pool, a football/soccer field, a basketball court, tennis courts, and a playground.
Glynn Academy (GA) is an American public high school in Brunswick, Georgia, United States, enrolling 1,755 students in grades 9–12. Along with Brunswick High School, it is one of two high schools in the Glynn County School System. Glynn Academy offers technical, academic, and Advanced Placement programs and is accredited by the Georgia Department of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The school has consistently been ranked among the top public high schools in the United States by Newsweek.
Peabody School, also known as Peabody High School, is an historic school building located on Herman Avenue in Eastman, Georgia. Built in 1938, it was designed by Eastman-born American architect Edward Columbus Hosford, who is noted for the courthouses and other buildings that he designed in Florida, Georgia and Texas. The brick building's design includes elements of the Colonial Revival style. The segregated school educated the African-American high school students of Eastman and most other parts of Dodge County. In 1950, the school became an elementary school serving grades 1-8 after a new high school opened. It was closed in 1970 and its students were integrated into Dodge County High School and other formerly all-white public schools in Dodge County.
