Ballogie is a rural community and an estate in the Lower Deeside area of Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Most of Ballogie lies within the parish of Birse, although the northern part extends into the parish of Aboyne and Glen Tanar.
The ancient name of the estate was Tillysnaught, and in 1650 belonged to a branch of the Roses of Kilravock. It passed afterwards to a Forbes, then the Innes and Farquharson families, before being sold to James Dyce Nicol (MP for Kincardineshire 1865–72). [after Alex Inkson McConnochie 'Deeside (1895)'].
Ballogie House was painted yellow following the events of the 1775 Battle of Kirkcaldy, where six clans fought against clan Robertson. The Ballogie clan deemed cowards after their retreat, orchestrated by Stuart of clan Gordon, meant their steadings were painted yellow. The house was painted pink in 1989.

Maryculter or Kirkton of Maryculter is a village in the Lower Deeside area of Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The River Dee separates it from the town of Peterculter, and the B979 road runs through Maryculter. Maryculter House Hotel lies slightly north of the village along the south bank of the River Dee and to the west of Templars Park. The Old Mill Inn, a former coaching inn dating back to the 18th century lay at the mouth of the Crynoch Burn from 1797 until its demolition in February 2021 after being damaged by an extensive fire. At the edge of the village of Maryculter is a public forest land, known as the Oldman Wood, through which flows the Crynoch Burn. Also the children's theme park, StoryBook Glen, which also consists of a shop and restaurant is located near the old church which is still in use today as a Church of Scotland. Other notable vicinity buildings include the former Lairhillock Inn which closed in March 2020 and Muchalls Castle. Maryculter also has an animal sanctuary, Blaikiewell Animal Sanctuary.
Birkhall is a 53,000 acre (210 km²) estate on Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, owned by Charles, Prince of Wales. It is located alongside the River Muick to the south-west of Ballater.
Finzean is a rural community, electoral polling district, community council area and former ecclesiastical parish, which forms the southern part of the Parish of Birse, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Finzean was the subject of many well-known landscape paintings by the artist Joseph Farquharson, whose family have owned Finzean Estate since the 17th century. Finzean extends to approximately 8000 hectares in area and had a population of approximately 270 in 2002.
The Deeside Way is a 41-mile (66 km) rail trail that follows, in part, the bed of the former Deeside Railway in Aberdeenshire. Forming part of the National Cycle Network the trail leads from Aberdeen to Ballater.

The south-west part of the parish is a sparsely populated upland area known as the Forest of Birse, which gives its name to one of the houses at Aboyne Academy.

The Forest of Birse is a remote upland area in the upper catchment of the Water of Feugh, which forms the south-western portion of the Parish of Birse, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It also forms the western part of the community of Finzean, but has a separate, complex history of landownership relating to its status as a commonty, which has involved a large number of disputes since the 16th century. In more recent decades, the forest has been a popular destination for people from Aberdeen taking picnics, as it is the closest area of Highland scenery to the city.
Ram Diwali is a locality in Faisalabad District, Punjab, Pakistan. It comprises four villages which are locally identified as Chak No. 112 JB, Chak No. 2 JB, Chak No. 3 JB and Chak No. 4 JB. The locality is situated on Sargodha Road and lies to the north of the city of Faisalabad, 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) away from Pakistan's M–3 Motorway, and is mainly inhabited by ethnic Punjabi Jats of the Randhawa clan. Prior to the Partition of British India in August 1947, the predominantly Muslim locality was also inhabited by Sikhs, who migrated to Amritsar after the creation of Pakistan. Other ethnic Punjabi Jat clans, namely the Gill and Sandhu, are also settled in Ram Diwali.

Aboyne Academy is a secondary school in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The school is located on the Western side of the village and serves many other villages in the surrounding area, including: Braemar, Ballater, Kincardine O'Neil and Tarland. The catchment primary schools for Aboyne Academy are Aboyne, Ballater, Braemar, Crathie, Finzean, Kincardine O’Neil, Logie Coldstone, Lumphanan, Tarland and Torphins. As of September 2015, the school had 665 pupils, making it one of the smallest secondary schools in Aberdeenshire. Aboyne Academy offer their students multiple extra curricular activities ranging widely from sports to music to other opportunities for them to develop their skills.
There are eleven stone cairns on the Balmoral estate in Deeside, Scotland, and a single cairn on the adjoining Birkhall estate. The cairns commemorate members of the British royal family and events in their lives. The majority of the cairns were erected by Queen Victoria.
