Bamfurlong is a village in Gloucestershire, England, [1] [2] between Cheltenham and Gloucester, near Gloucestershire Airport, and divided in two by the M5 motorway. There is no access from one half of Bamfurlong to the other (east to west) other than via Bamfurlong Lane and the motorway bridge.
A survey in 2018 said homes on Greenmeadows Park in Bamfurlong had the slowest broadband internet access in the UK at 0.14 megabits per second. (Mbps). That was nearly 1,900 times slower than the fastest access, which was in Birmingham. [3]
The M5 is a motorway in the UK linking the Midlands with South West England. It runs from junction 8 of the M6 at West Bromwich near Birmingham to Exeter in Devon. Heading southwest, the M5 runs east of West Bromwich and west of Birmingham through Sandwell Valley. It continues past Bromsgrove, Droitwich Spa, Worcester, Tewkesbury, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bristol, Weston-super-Mare, Bridgwater, Taunton, terminating at junction 31 for Exeter. Congestion on the section south of the M4 is common during the summer holidays, on Friday afternoons and bank holidays.
Ashchurch for Tewkesbury is a railway station serving the North Gloucestershire and South Worcestershire Area from the outskirts of Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire, England. The station is located less than 1⁄4 mile (400 m) from junction 9 of the M5 motorway and located on the main Bristol–Birmingham main line 7 1⁄4 miles (11.7 km) north of Cheltenham Spa and was opened on 1 June 1997 by Railtrack. There are regular bus connections from near the station to Tewkesbury town centre, which is located two miles to the west.
