Axé is a popular music genre originated in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil in the 1980s, fusing different Afro-Caribbean genres, such as marcha, reggae, and calypso. It also includes influences of Brazilian music such as frevo, forró and carixada. The word Axé comes from the Yoruba term àṣẹ, meaning "soul, light, spirit or good vibrations". Axé is present in the Candomblé religion, as "the imagined spiritual power and energy bestowed upon practitioners by the pantheon of orixás". It also has ties with the Roman Catholic Church and the Lenten season, which represents the roots of Bahian Carnival.

It's the fourth digital video disc from the singer and its first international release. The disc sold over 300,000 copies only on its pre-sale, which earned her a certified Triple Platinum and Gold Record by ABPD.

In 2015, Joelma and Ximbinha announced the end of marriage and the band, giving birth to the recording of their first album only in the same year.

"Dançando" Is a song by the Brazilian recording artist Ivete Sangalo from her seventh studio album Real Fantasia. The song, composed by Dan Kambaiah and Davi Salles, was released as second single of the album on 16 January 2013. A second version, featured the Colombian singer Shakira, was released on 30 January 2013. However, the duet does not integrate the album in the physical version, because the authorization for the commercialization of the recording did not arrive in a timely manner for the insertion of the duet in the physical edition of the disc. Once authorized, the recording was used by Universal Music as "bonus track" in the digital version of the album.
