Baptist Health System is a hospital and medical facility system located in San Antonio, Texas, United States. It is owned by Tenet Healthcare. [1]

History

In 1903 a group of 30 or more physicians, members of the young Bexar County Medical Society, [2] together with about 30 business and professional men organized the San Antonio Associated Charities which built a four-story hospital on Dallas Street, the Physicians' and Surgeons' Hospital.

It was affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas between 1948 and 2003. [3]

Valleywise Behavioral Health Center Maryvale, formerly Abrazo Maryvale Campus, Maryvale Hospital Medical Center and Maryvale Samaritan Medical Center, was an acute care hospital located in Phoenix, Arizona and it closed effective December 18, 2017. Valleywise Health purchased Maryvale from Abrazo in early 2018 and reopened the hospital in April 2019. In 1961, the hospital was opened in the 2010s.
