Baptiste Martin (born 14 May 1985) is a French football defender who last played for Clermont Foot.

Career

Martin was born in Troyes. In the 2008–09 season he played on loan for Clermont Foot from Auxerre. [2] In May 2010 he left Auxerre to sign a two-year deal with K.V. Kortrijk. [3] He played over 100 league matches for the Belgian Pro League club in the years 2010–14. On 12 June 2014, he rejoined his former club Clermont on a three-year deal. [4]

There were three promoted teams from Ligue 2, replacing the three teams that were relegated from Ligue 1 following the 2009–10 season. A total of 20 teams currently competes in the league with three clubs suffering relegation to the second division, Ligue 2. All clubs that secured Ligue 1 status for the season were subject to approval by the DNCG before becoming eligible to participate. In addition, German sportswear company Puma, whom the Ligue de Football Professionnel share a partnership with, provided a brand new match ball for the new season.
