The Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales is the head of the Judiciary of England and Wales and the president of the Courts of England and Wales.
The King's Remembrancer is an ancient judicial post in the legal system of England and Wales. Since the Lord Chancellor no longer sits as a judge, the Remembrancer is the oldest judicial position in continual existence. The post was created in 1154 by King Henry II as the chief official in the Exchequer Court, whose purpose was "to put the Lord Treasurer and the Barons of Court in remembrance of such things as were to be called upon and dealt with for the benefit of the Crown", a primary duty being to keep records of the taxes, paid and unpaid.

A justice of the High Court, commonly known as a High Court judge, is a judge of the High Court of Justice of England and Wales, and represents the third-highest level of judge in the courts of England and Wales. High Court judges are referred to as puisne justices and wear red and black robes.

Sir George Albert Bonner was a British judge, barrister and legal scholar. From 1906 to 1937, he served as a Master of the King's Bench Division, High Court of Justice. In 1927 he was appointed as the Senior Master of the King's Bench and King's Remembrancer, the most ancient position in the British judiciary. Later that year he was knighted as a Knight Bachelor in King George V's Birthday Honours of 1927. He also produced several works of legal scholarship, including 'The Law of Motor Cars and Hackney and other Carriages on the Highways', one of the earliest texts on the laws of automobiles, published in 1898.
