The Warner and Swasey Observatory is the astronomical observatory of Case Western Reserve University. Named after Worcester R. Warner and Ambrose Swasey,who built it at the beginning of the 20th century,it was initially located on Taylor Road in East Cleveland,Ohio,USA. The observatory,which at that time housed a 9.5-inch (24 cm) refractor,was donated in 1919 to the Case School of Applied Science. The newer 24-inch (61 cm) Burrell Schmidt telescope was built in 1939.

During her time at CWRU she aided in the development of the doctorate in nursing program and the bachelor of science in nursing program. She is most notable for her work in Central East Europe,especially Hungary,where she established nursing education programs at the university level. Modly received the Officers Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary,Pro Cultura Hungarcia,and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship for her efforts in advancing nursing in the country.
Suzanne M. Rivera is an American bioethicist who is the president of Macalester College. She is the first female and first Latina president in the college's history. Rivera's presidential Inauguration ceremony was held at Macalester on October 9,2021. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz proclaimed it as "Suzanne M. Rivera Day" in the state.

Kathryn Karipides is a choreographer,modern dancer,and professor who developed and later co-directed Case Western Reserve University's dance program. Karipides worked for ten years as choreographer and principal dancer for the Dance Theatre of Kathryn Karipides and Henry Kurth. She is a proponent of modern dance and believes in expressing "anatomical truths" through choreography and movement.
The CWRU Film Society Science Fiction Marathon,held by the CWRU Film Society at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU),is the longest-running 24-hour annual movie marathon event,attracting more than 100 customers annually. The Science Fiction Marathon is a weekend of back to back science fiction movies,trailers,and surprises. This event was started in 1976 and is attended by CWRU students,the Cleveland community,and people from out of state and from other countries. The Marathon takes place every spring semester starting the Friday after the first day of classes.
