Barely Breaking Even (BBE) is a British record label started by two DJs, Peter Adarkwah and Ben Jolly. The name BBE comes from The Universal Robot Band's 1982 track "Barely Breaking Even". It has two sublabels: Deep Funk, and Urban Theory. BBE is also notable for its Beat Generation series of LPs. [2]

The Herbaliser is an English jazz hip hop group formed by Jake Wherry and Ollie Teeba in London, England during the early 1990s. Although currently releasing on their own label and having previously been signed to !K7 Records, they were one of the best-known acts from the Ninja Tune independent record label. They have released 12 albums, including two DJ mixes: one for Ninja Tune's Solid Steel series and the other for Fabric's Live Mix series. The Herbaliser's album Same As It Never Was was their first release on !K7 Records. Their latest album Bring Out The Sound was released in 2018, on the BBE label.

!K7 Music is a music company based in Berlin, Germany that focuses mostly on electronic music. The name is an abbreviation of the company's original Berlin address, Kaiserdamm 7. !K7 has since opened branch offices in New York City and London. It has five independent imprints as part of the K7 Label Group: !K7 Records, 7K!, Strut, Soul Bank and Eternal Source Of Light. K7 also runs successful Label Services and Synch and Licensing departments.

It is the eighth installment of BBE Beat Generation series, after releases by Pete Rock, J Dilla, DJ Jazzy Jeff, will.i.am and many others. It was released on February 3, 2003 on BBE Records. The album features appearances by various artists who sang, rapped or played musical instruments.
