Founded as Dhaka Brahma School in 1858 and renamed Jagannath School in 1872, the institution was taken over by the Pakistani government in 1968, while Bangladesh was still a part of Pakistan. It opened graduate and post-graduate programmes in 1975 and was approved as a full public university in 2005.
Gulshan is a thana situated in Dhaka, Bangladesh. SOS Hermann Gmeiner College located in Mirpur-13 of the capital Dhaka city of Bangladesh is an educational institution. It was established in 1986 by the SOS-Kinderdorf International, headquartered in Innsbruck, Austria, a non-government organization. The foundation stone was laid by former President of Bangladesh, Hussain Muhammad Ershad. In 2010, the college was ranked among the top ten best institutions of the country for its academic performance in Secondary School Certificate Examination.
BAF Shaheen College Dhaka also known as BAFSD or Dhaka Shaheen is a co-educational Bangladeshi college established and controlled by the Bangladesh Air Force and primarily for the children of Air Force personnel, but students from the civilian section can also study at the college.

Dhaka Pop Culture Expo was a convention for fans of comic books, film, TV, anime and video games, held in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka. The first event was held on Friday and Saturday 30–31 August 2013 at Baridhara DOHS Convention Center, Dhaka; it was attended by over 2,000 participants. The 2014 expo was staged 24–25 June 2014 at the National Shooting Federation Hall in Dhaka. The third edition took place 31 July and 1 August 2015. The expo returned in July 2016, and June 2017.

South Point School & College, also known as SPSC, is a private school and college, founded in 2002, and based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It has six branches, located in Baridhara, Malibagh, Mirpur, Banani, Uttara and Shampur. The school was founded by Hamida Ali, former principal of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College.
