The Barnham Broom Championship was a women's professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour held in England. It was held in October 1980 at Barnham Broom Hotel & Country Club, in Barnham Broom near Norwich, Norfolk. [1] A second tournament was planned for September 1981, but the host venue withdrew their support. [2]

The tournament was won by Muriel Thomson with a score of 230 (eight-over par), four strokes clear of runner-up Maxine Burton. [3]

PGA European Tour golf tour in Europe

The PGA European Tour is an organisation which operates the three leading men's professional golf tours in Europe: the elite European Tour, which is the principal golf tour in Europe; the European Senior Tour, for players aged fifty or older; and the developmental Challenge Tour. In team events, Thomson was part of the team that played at the 1977 Vagliano Trophy and the 1978 Curtis Cup.

Alison Sheard is a South African professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and LPGA Tour. As an amateur golfer during the 1970s, Sheard won multiple golf tournaments in South Africa and silver at the 1974 Espirito Santo Trophy.
