Mount Barnston is a mountain located at Coaticook, in the regional county municipality of Coaticook, in the administrative region of Estrie, in Quebec (Canada), just north of the American border with Vermont. [1] Its altitude is 743 meters [2]

The mountain is located near Lyster Lake and the hamlet of Baldwin Mills in the agricultural valley of the Coaticook River.

Henry Lovell Canadian politician

Henry Lovell was a Canadian politician. Born in Barnston, Stanstead County, Lower Canada, the son of William Lovell and Mary Hanson, Lovell was a farmer and merchant. He moved to Coaticook, Quebec in 1867. He was a municipal councilor in Coaticook from 1876 to 1885 and again from 1888 to 1891. He was mayor from 1874 to 1875 and from 1886 to 1887. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Quebec in 1878 for the riding of Stanstead. A Quebec Liberal, he was defeated in 1881 and 1886. He was elected to the House of Commons of Canada for Stanstead in 1900. A Liberal, he was re-elected in 1904. He died while in office in 1907. His son, Charles Henry Lovell, was elected in the 1908 by-election following the death of his father. His other son, Moodie Brock Lovell, was a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Quebec.

John Thornton was an American-born merchant, farmer and political figure in Quebec. He represented Stanstead in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec from 1875 to 1878 and from 1881 to 1886 as a Conservative.

Mount Pinacle

Mount Pinacle is a mountain located in Coaticook, Quebec Canada. There are 7.8 kilometres (4.8 mi) of trails on the mountain, which hikers may use free of charge. Experienced rock climbers may scale the face of the hill starting from Lake Lyster. The mountain is exploited for its abundance of maples, with a sugar bush running along a portion of its trails.

Coaticook station

Coaticook station is a historic building in the small town of Coaticook, Quebec, Canada, close to the border with the United States. The first station, which was on the west side of the tracks, was completed in 1853 by the St. Lawrence and Atlantic Railroad. The current building was constructed on the east side of the tracks in 1904 by the Grand Trunk Railway. The two storey wooden frame building has a single storey conical roofed southerly end and a small extension on the north end. One of the façades includes a two-story bay window topped by a gable-pediment. The old station is located in a semi-wooded area in a residential area of the town.
