Barton U. A. Scotland is a Guyanese politician and former diplomat. He has served as Speaker of the National Assembly of Guyana from 10 June 2015 [2] to 1 September 2020. [1]
Scotland formerly worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a senior diplomat and advisor. He was also the head of the Department of International Economic Co-operation,and a Commissioner on the Caricom Competition Commission. A lawyer,Scotland holds Master of Laws and PhD (international law) degrees from the University of London. [3] [4] [5]

Owen Seymour Arthur was a Barbadian politician who served as the fifth prime minister of Barbados from 6 September 1994 to 15 January 2008. He is the longest-serving Barbadian prime minister to date. He also served as Leader of the Opposition from 1 August 1993 to 6 September 1994 and from 23 October 2010 to 21 February 2013.
Theo-Ben Gurirab was a Namibian politician who served in various senior government positions. He served as the second prime minister of Namibia from 28 August 2002 to 20 March 2005,following the demotion and subsequent resignation of Hage Geingob. On 20 October 2021,Mason was elected by the Parliament of Barbados to become the country's first president,and took office on 30 November 2021,when Barbados ceased to be a constitutional monarchy and became a republic.

Bernal served as the Jamaican Ambassador to the United States from 1991 to 2001,simultaneously holding the post of Permanent Representative of Jamaica to the Organization of American States. As of March 2016,Bernal held the post of Pro Vice-Chancellor for Global Affairs at the University of the West Indies (UWI). Bernal was a Member of the Order of Jamaica. In 2018,he was made a Professor of Practice (PoP) in international economic policy at The UWI. Bernal was a Member of the Leadership Council of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network. He was also a member of the Board of Directors at Laspau,Harvard University.
During a debate at the Oxford Union on 28 May 2015,the Indian Member of Parliament,diplomat and writer Shashi Tharoor delivered a speech supporting the motion "Britain owes reparations to her former colonies". Tharoor was the seventh speaker in the debate,the final speaker from the proposition,and spoke for about fifteen minutes. While criticising the opposition,he argued that British colonial rule damaged the Indian economy.
Jane Caroline Miller OBE is a British diplomat who is currently the High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to Guyana. She is the first female to be appointed to the post. She also serves as Ambassador of the United Kingdom to CARICOM and non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Suriname.
