Barylaus is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species: [1]
Beetles are a group of insects that form the order Coleoptera, in the superorder Endopterygota. Their front pair of wings are hardened into wing-cases, elytra, distinguishing them from most other insects. The Coleoptera, with about 400,000 species, is the largest of all orders, constituting almost 40% of described insects and 25% of all known animal life-forms; new species are discovered frequently. The largest of all families, the Curculionidae (weevils) with some 70,000 member species, belongs to this order. Found in almost every habitat except the sea and the polar regions, they interact with their ecosystems in several ways: beetles often feed on plants and fungi, break down animal and plant debris, and eat other invertebrates. Some species are serious agricultural pests, such as the Colorado potato beetle, while others such as Coccinellidae eat aphids, scale insects, thrips, and other plant-sucking insects that damage crops.
Planetes is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species:
Lebiinae is a subfamily of beetles in the family Carabidae.
Apenes is a genus of ground beetles in the family Carabidae. There are at least 80 described species in Apenes.
Phloeoxena is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species:
Pentagonica is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species:
Platyninae is a subfamily of ground beetles. Occasionally it was treated as a tribe Platynini of subfamily Harpalinae, particularly when this was circumscribed loosely.
Altagonum is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species:
Notagonum is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species:
Psydrinae is a subfamily of beetles in the family Carabidae.
Pterostichinae is a subfamily of ground beetles. It belongs to the advanced harpaline assemblage, and if these are circumscribed sensu lato as a single subfamily, Pterostichinae are downranked to a tribe Pterostichini. However, as the former Pterostichitae supertribe of the Harpalinae as loosely circumscribed does seem to constitute a lineage rather distinct from Harpalus, its core group is here considered to be the present subfamily and the Harpalinae are defined more narrowly.
Euchroa is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species:
Lesticus is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species:
Notonomus is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species:
Platycaelus is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species:
Halocoryza is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species:
Oxydrepanus is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species:

Perileptus is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species:
Halocoryza arenaria is a species of brown coloured ground beetle in the subfamily Scaritinae which was described by Darlington in 1939.
