Basanta Utsav is a 2013 Bengali film directed by Rhitobrata Bhattacharya. Holi , the Indian festival is the backdrop of the film. [1] [2] [3] There are five different stories in the film.

Basanta Utsav is an anthology of five independently shot films that revolve around love, desire, and relationships. The stories are written by Samantak Ghosh and Rhitobrata. [2]

Having won 19 National Awards, along with his contemporaries Aparna Sen and Goutam Ghose, Rituparno heralded contemporary Bengali cinema to greater heights. Ghosh died on 30 May 2013 in Kolkata after a heart attack. Ghosh was also one of the openly homosexual personalities in Indian cinema.

Ashapurna Devi, also Ashapoorna Devi or Ashapurna Debi, was a prominent Indian novelist and poet in Bengali. In 1976, she was awarded the Jnanpith Award and Padma Shri by the Government of India, D.Litt. by the Universities of Jabalpur, Rabindra Bharati, Burdwan and Jadavpur. Vishwa Bharati University honoured her with Deshikottam in 1989. Poush Mela is an annual fair and festival that takes place in Santiniketan, in Birbhum District in the Indian state of West Bengal, marking the harvest season.
