The Caribbean Series is an annual club tournament contested by professional baseball teams in Latin America. It is organized by the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation. The series is normally played in February, after the various winter leagues have ended their national tournaments.

The United States Virgin Islands National Baseball Team is the national baseball team of the United States Virgin Islands. It was the first appearance for a USVI team at the CAC Games since 1998. In the first of USVI's four CAC Games, VI lost a 1–0 decision to Panama. The only score was made in the bottom of the sixth inning when Jaime Jaen hit a double, and went to third on a sacrifice bunt by Earl Agnoly. With Jaen on third, Carlos Muñoz hit a single, which brought Jaen home to score the run. The USVI's Geronimo Newton pitched a complete game, scattering eight hits and walking one.

The Central American and Caribbean Athletic Confederation (CACAC) is a confederation governing body of athletics for national governing bodies and multi-national federations within Central America and the Caribbean. Membership of the Confederation is open to all national governing bodies for the sport of athletics in any country or territory in the region which is affiliated to World Athletics. Other countries may be granted observer status and may, with permission of the Congress, be allowed to compete in open championships. They will, however, not be entitled to vote at the Congress.

The following is the qualification system and qualified athletes, countries and teams for the Baseball at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games competitions. As the host nation, El Salvador qualifies a team with 24 athletes automatically. The WBSC ranking determined the next four as of the December 31, 2022 release: Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Venezuela. The top two non-qualified finishers of the Caribbean Baseball Cup, Bahamas 2022 (COCABE) will receive their quota automatically, which are Puerto Rico and Curaçao. The highest non-qualified finisher of the 2023 Centroamericano de Beisbol received the last slot, which is Nicaragua.
