The South Korean national baseball team, also known as the Blue Wave, is the national baseball team of South Korea. It has participated in every edition of the World Baseball Classic (WBC), reaching the finals in 2009, and won the WBSC Premier12 in 2015. South Korea also hosted and won the Baseball World Cup in 1982, and has participated in several Summer Olympic Games.
The Chinese Taipei national baseball team is the national men's baseball team of Taiwan. It is governed by the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association. The team is ranked fourth in the world by the World Baseball Softball Confederation. The team is usually made up of professionals from Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League, Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball, and Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball from the United States.
The 2017 Summer Universiade, officially known as the XXIX Summer Universiade and commonly called Taipei 2017, was a multi-sport event, sanctioned by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), held in the city of Taipei, Taiwan. It took place from August 19 to August 30, 2017.
Badminton was contested at the 2015 Summer Universiade from July 6 to 12 at the Hwasun Hanium Culture Sports Center in Hwasun, South Korea. Men's and women's singles, men's, women's, and mixed doubles, and mixed team events will be contested.
Lee Chih-kai(simplified Chinese: 李智凯; traditional Chinese: 李智凱; Hanyu Pinyin: Lǐ Zhìkǎi; Tongyong Pinyin: Lǐ Jhìhkǎi; Wade–Giles: Li3 Chih4k'ai3; born 3 April 1996) is a Taiwanese artistic gymnast. He is the 2020 Olympic silver medalist in the pommel horse, and he was the first gymnast representing Chinese Taipei to win an Olympic medal. He is the 2019 World silver medalist and the 2018 World bronze medalist on the pommel horse. He is the 2018 Asian Games pommel horse champion and the 2019 Asian all-around champion. He is a three-time (2017, 2019 and 2021) Summer Universiade pommel horse champion.
The men's tournament of football at the 2017 Summer Universiade was held from August 18 to 29 in Taipei, Taiwan.
Finland participated at the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei, Taiwan, from 19 to 30 August 2017. The team won one gold medal – by Ari-Pekka Liukkonen in the men's 50 metre freestyle swimming event – and three other medals in athletics events.
Swimming was contested at the 2017 Summer Universiade from August 20 to 27 in Taipei, Taiwan. The swimming competitions were held at the National Taiwan Sport University Arena and the New Taipei City Breeze Canal.
Billiards at the 2017 Summer Universiade was held in the Expo Dome, Taipei Expo Park, Taipei City, Taiwan, from August 25 to 29, 2017. Four competitions were held in men's and women's single 9-ball and in men and women's team 9-ball. Due to its status as a demonstration sport, the medals won in this sport event will be awarded, but will not be computed in the overall medal table.
Russia participated at the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei, Taiwan. Russia sent a delegation of 348 sportspeople and 169 assistants this time. Of those, 13 athletes were Merited Masters of Sport and 81 world-class Masters of Sport.

The Czech Republic participated at the 2017 Summer Universiade, in Taipei, Taiwan with 139 competitors in 14 sports.
Tang Chia-hung is a Taiwanese artistic gymnast. He won the gold medal on the horizontal bar and the silver medal on the floor exercise at the 2018 Asian Games. He is the 2019 Summer Universiade horizontal bar champion. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics and he won the bronze medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics on the horizontal bar.
