Bashir Mason (born February 11, 1984) is an American college basketball coach and current head men's basketball coach at Saint Peter's University.
He was previously an assistant coach at Marist College in 2008, and an assistant coach at Wagner College in 2010.
Mason played high school basketball St. Benedict's Preparatory School, then joined then head coach Bruiser Flint to play college basketball at Drexel University. He was a four-year starter for the Dragons, scoring over 1,000 points and handing out 471 assists as a point guard. He was a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) all-defensive player every season, as well as the CAA's defensive player of the year as a freshman.
Mason was hired by Wagner, in March 2012, as their 18th men's head basketball coach. [1] At the time of his hiring, Mason was the youngest coach in NCAA Division I basketball at 28. He guided Wagner to three regular season titles, as well as their first-ever postseason win, defeating St. Bonaventure in the 2016 National Invitation Tournament. He finished his ten seasons at Wagner with a 165–130 record.
Mason was hired as Saint Peter's 16th men's head basketball coach on April 12, 2022. [2] He replaced Shaheen Holloway when he left Saint Peter's for Seton Hall on March 30, 2022. [3]

Peter John Carlesimo is an American basketball coach who coached in both the National Basketball Association (NBA) and college basketball for nearly 40 years. He is also a television broadcaster and has worked with ESPN, The NBA on TNT, Westwood One, Fox Sports Southwest, Pac-12 Network, The NBA on NBC, and CSN New England.
John Morton is a retired American professional basketball player and current assistant coach at Saint Peter's University. At a height of 6′3″ and 180 pounds (82 kg), he played at the point guard position.
Adrian Darnell Griffin Sr. is an American professional basketball coach and former player who most recently served as the head coach for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played in the NBA as a shooting guard and small forward from 1999 to 2008. Griffin grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and played college basketball for the Seton Hall Pirates.
Tony Oludewa Jeffrey Skinn is a Nigerian–American basketball coach and former player. He played guard for the George Mason Patriots from 2003 to 2006, later playing professionally for six years. Skinn is currently the head men's basketball coach at his alma mater, George Mason University. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Skinn migrated with his family to the United States at the age of two.

The Seton Hall Pirates men's basketball program is the NCAA Division I intercollegiate men's basketball program of Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. The team competes in the Big East Conference and plays their home games in the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The Pirates are currently coached by Shaheen Holloway. Seton Hall has appeared 14 times in the NCAA tournament and were national runners-up in 1989.

The Peacocks, led by 12th-year head coach John Dunne, played their home games at the Yanitelli Center in Jersey City, New Jersey as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 14–18 overall, 6–12 in MAAC play to finish in ninth place. As the No. 9 seed at the MAAC tournament, they defeated No. 8 seed Monmouth and upset No. 1 seed Rider to advance to the semifinals, where they lost to No. 4 seed Iona.
Shaheen Holloway is an American men's basketball coach and former player who is the coach for the Seton Hall Pirates. He played college basketball at Seton Hall from 1996 to 2000. A point guard, Holloway played professionally for seven seasons. He served as the head coach for the Saint Peter's Peacocks from 2018 to 2022, where he led the 15th seed Peacocks to the Elite Eight in the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament. As head coach of Seton Hall, he led the top-seeded Pirates to the 2024 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) championship.

They finished the 2018–19 season 10–22 overall, 6–12 in MAAC play to finish in a three-way tie for ninth place. As the 9th seed in the 2019 MAAC tournament, they upset No. 8 seed Marist in the first round 71–68 in overtime before falling to No. 1 seed Iona, 71–73 in the quarterfinals.

They defeated Georgetown in the first round of the Big East tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to UConn. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 8 seed in the South region where they lost in the first round to TCU.

The 2021–22 Saint Peter's Peacocks men's basketball team represented Saint Peter's University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Peacocks, led by fourth-year head coach Shaheen Holloway, played their home games at the Run Baby Run Arena in Jersey City, New Jersey, as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). They finished the season 22–12, 14–6 in MAAC play, to finish in second place. They defeated Fairfield and Quinnipiac in the MAAC tournament, advancing to the championship game. There they defeated Monmouth to win the tournament championship. As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, for the first time since 2011, as the No. 15 seed in the East region.
