Donny Lind is an American college basketball coach who has been the men's basketball head coach at Mount St. Mary's University since April 20, 2024.
Lind was a student manager and video coordinator with the Greyhounds men's basketball program under head coach Jimmy Patsos at Loyola University Maryland where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2010. [1]
He was a graduate manager for one season before his promotion to video coordinator during his three years with Shaka Smart's staff at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) from 2010 to 2013. The Rams qualified for the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament in all three seasons, reaching the Final Four for the first time in the program's history in 2011. Lind earned a Master of Sport Leadership degree from VCU. [1]
He joined the staff of his former VCU assistant coaching colleague Jamion Christian at Mount St. Mary's University in 2013. He was the recruiting coordinator who also oversaw the team's offense. The Mountaineers appeared in the NCAA tournament in the first of Lind's three years at Mount St. Mary's in 2014. [1]
Lind was reunited with another former VCU assistant coaching colleague Mike Jones at Radford University when he was named an assistant in charge of the offense on June 23, 2016. [2] The Highlanders made it to the NCAA tournament in the second of his five seasons at Radford in 2018. He made the transition with Jones to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in a similar capacity in 2021. [3]
He returned to Mount St. Mary's when he accepted its men's basketball head coaching position on April 20, 2024. [4] He succeeded Dan Engelstad who announced his resignation ten days prior on April 10. [5] Lind inherited a program with a 40–55 overall record in the three seasons since its previous NCAA tournament appearance in 2021. [6]

Donny Lind is the program's current head coach since April 20, 2024. It competed in the Northeast Conference (NEC) from 1989 until July 1, 2022, when it joined the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Mountaineers play their home games at Knott Arena. The team has played in five NCAA Division I men's basketball tournaments by virtue of winning the NEC tournament. They were NCAA Division II National Champions in 1962 and the NCAA Division II runner-up in 1981.
Shaka Dingani Smart is an American men's college basketball coach and former college basketball player. He is the current head men's basketball coach at Marquette University. He married his wife Maya Payne Smart in 2006 and had his daughter Zora in 2011.
The James Madison Dukes men's basketball team is the intercollegiate men's basketball program representing James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. John Brannen is an American basketball coach, mostly recently serving as a program analyst and senior special assistant for the University of Dayton Flyers. Brannen previously spent two seasons as the men's basketball coach of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats and four seasons as the head coach for the Northern Kentucky University Norse. Before that he spent nine seasons as an assistant coach to Anthony Grant at both VCU and Alabama. For the Tide's two games in the 2015 National Invitation Tournament, Brannen served as interim head coach.

Guard De'Monte Buckingham was named to the Southern Conference Sports Media Association third team. They accepted an invitation to play in the 2022 College Basketball Invitational tournament where, as a No. 7 seed, they lost to No. 10-seeded Boston University in the first round.
