The Plaza de Armas De San Fernando is the main square of Santiago, the capital of Chile. Plaza de Armas metro station is located under the square. Gruta de Lourdes is an underground metro station on the Line 5 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. It is located close to the western branch of the Autopista Central and the Basilica of Lourdes. East of the station, Line 5 runs beneath Quinta Normal Park. The station was opened on 12 January 2010 as part of the extension of the line from Quinta Normal to Pudahuel.

Esmeralda Zenteno Urizar, known by her pseudonym Vera Zouroff, was a Chilean feminist, editor, writer, novelist, poet, and correspondent. Lecturing on Socialismo en Chile, she advocated the form of socialism which gives women a share in the practical direction of the world. She also provided a leadership role at the Centro Femenino de Estudio in Santiago. Zenteno married Arturo León del Río, after which she was known as Esmeralda Zenteno de León. She had five children.
María Julieta Kirkwood Bañados was a Chilean sociologist, political scientist, university professor and feminist activist. She is considered one of the founders and impellers of the Chilean feminist movement in the 1980s. She is considered the forerunner of Gender studies in Chile.
