The Women's Basketball Tournament at the 2014 Lusophony Games was the 3rd Lusophony Games basketball tournament, played under the rules of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball. The tournament was hosted by India from January 23 to 27, 2014.

Contents

Mozambique ended the round-robin tournament with a 3–0 unbeaten record to win their second title.

Lusofonia Games International sporting event

The Lusofonia Games is a multinational multi-sport event organized by the ACOLOP, which involves athletes coming from Lusophone (Portuguese-speaking) countries, most countries competing are countries that are members of the CPLP, but some are countries with significant Portuguese communities or have a history with Portugal

ACOLOP

ACOLOP, is an Olympic-related non-profit organisation officially established on June 8, 2004, in Lisbon. It was founded by the national Olympic committees (NOCs) of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, East Timor, Guinea-Bissau, Macau, Mozambique, Portugal and São Tomé and Príncipe; it also includes Equatorial Guinea as an associate member. On April 2006, India and Sri Lanka were admitted also as associate members, based on their common historical past with Portugal.

Clarisse Machanguana is a professional women's basketball player from Mozambique. She has played internationally in both the United States and in Spain. She also represented Mozambique at the 2006 Lusophony Games in Macau, China.

The Cape Verde national basketball team represents Cape Verde in international basketball matches and is administered by the Federação Cabo-verdiana de Basquetebol.

The Brazil national futsal team represents Brazil during international futsal competitions. Angola at the Lusofonia Games

Angola participates in the Lusophone Games, a multi-sport event for Portuguese-speaking countries. Angola participated in the 2006 games in Macau, the first edition of the Lusophone Games. Angola has sent athletes to all three editions of the Lusophone Games and won medals at all three. Angola did not win any gold medals in 2006 but has won gold medals at all Games since, with four in 2009 and five in 2014.

The Supertaça Compal or Supertaça da Lusofonia is an annual basketball tournament contested by the champions and cup winner teams from Lusophonic (Portuguese-speaking) countries. The event is jointly organized by the Basketball federations of Angola and Portugal.
