Deyang is a prefecture-level city of Sichuan province, China. Deyang is a largely industrial city, with companies such as China National Erzhong Group and Dongfang Electric having major operations there. The city is rich in history, with the Sanxingdui archeological site in Guanghan uncovering a rich trove of bronze and gold masks. More recently, Deyang was greatly afflicted by the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, which particularly impacted its county-level cities of Mianzhu and Shifang, in Deyang's northwest. Deyang spans an area of 5,911 km2 (2,282 sq mi).

Chengdu Rongcheng Football Club is a Chinese professional football club based in Chengdu, Sichuan, and their home stadium is the Chengdu Phoenix Hill Football Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 50,695. The club currently participates in the Chinese Super League division under licence from the Chinese Football Association (CFA). The club's founder and their majority shareholder is Chengdu Better City Investment Group Co., Ltd.

The 2021 Summer World University Games, the XXXI Summer World University Games, commonly known as Chengdu 2021, are an ongoing multi-sport event sanctioned by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), scheduled to be held from 28 July to 8 August 2023 primarily in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. It will be the fourth edition of the Games to be hosted by China, and the first edition to be referred to as the "Summer World University Games" rather than "Summer Universiade".

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Chengdu Hunters</span> Chinese professional esports team

Chengdu Hunters were a Chinese professional Overwatch esports team based in Chengdu, China. The Hunters competed in the Overwatch League (OWL) as a member of the league's East region. The team was owned by Huya, Inc., a Chinese interactive broadcast platform and was operated by Royal Never Give Up (RNG) throughout the 2019 and 2020 OWL seasons. The Hunters also formerly had partnership with Overwatch Contenders the team LGE.Huya to act as the team's academy team. Founded in 2018, Chengdu Hunters began play as one of eight expansion teams in 2019 and was one of four professional Overwatch teams in China. Since inception, the Hunters had qualified for the season playoffs once, in 2021. The team disbanded in 2023.

The Second Chengdu–Chongqing high-speed railway is a 292-kilometre (181 mi) long high-speed rail line that connects the cities of Chengdu and Chongqing in southwestern China, with a maximum speed of 350 km/h (220 mph). It will head via Lezhi, Anyue, and Dazu. Construction started on September 26, 2021 and it is expected to open in 2027.

There is an active LGBT community in Chengdu, Sichuan, China.
