Artistic gymnastics was contested at the 2021 Summer World University Games from July 31 to August 4, 2023 (because of COVID-19 concerns) and was held at the Dong'an Lake Arena in Chengdu, China. Rhythmic gymnastics was contested from July 29 to 31 and was held at the Chengdu Sport University Gymnasium in Chengdu. [1] [2] [3]

The FISU World University Games, formerly the Universiade, is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The former name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad".
The 2001 Summer Universiade, also known as the XXI Summer Universiade, was an international multi-sport event that took place in Beijing, China, between 22 August and 1 September. Beijing also hosted the 1990 Asian Games. A total of 6,757 athletes from 165 nations took part in 12 sports. The hosts, China, topped the medal table for the first time, with a total of 103 medals and 54 gold medals.
Gymnastics was contested at the 2013 Summer Universiade from July 7 to 10 at the Gymnastics Centre in Kazan, Russia. Artistic and rhythmic gymnastics was the two disciplines of gymnastics contested.
The 2019 Summer Universiade, officially known as the XXX Summer Universiade and also known as Naples 2019, or Napoli 2019, was held in Naples, Italy, between 3 and 14 July 2019.
Lilia Igorevna Akhaimova is a Russian retired artistic gymnast. She represented the Russian Olympic Committee at the 2020 Summer Olympics and won a gold medal in the team event. She is a two-time World silver medalist and the 2018 European champion with the Russian team. She is also a six-time Universiade medalist.
Ana Filipa da Silva Martins is a retired Portuguese artistic gymnast who competed at the 2016, 2020, and 2024 Olympic Games. She won a bronze medal at the 2015 Summer Universiade on the balance beam. She is the first Portuguese gymnast to win a World Cup gold medal.
Lee Chih-kai(simplified Chinese: 李智凯; traditional Chinese: 李智凱; Hanyu Pinyin: Lǐ Zhìkǎi; Tongyong Pinyin: Lǐ Jhìhkǎi; Wade–Giles: Li3 Chih4k'ai3; born 3 April 1996) is a Taiwanese artistic gymnast. He is the 2020 Olympic silver medalist in the pommel horse, and he was the first gymnast representing Chinese Taipei to win an Olympic medal. He is the 2019 World silver medalist and the 2018 World bronze medalist on the pommel horse. He is the 2018 Asian Games pommel horse champion and the 2019 Asian all-around champion. He is a three-time (2017, 2019 and 2021) Summer Universiade pommel horse champion.
The 2021 Summer World University Games (2021年夏季世界大学生运动会), officially known as the XXXI Summer World University Games and also known as Chengdu 2021, was a multi-sport event sanctioned by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), held from 28 July to 8 August 2023 in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. It was the fourth time the Games was hosted in China. This is the first time the Games was referred to as the "Summer World University Games" rather than the "Summer Universiade."

He is also the 2022 Asian Games vault champion and a two-time World University Games champion.
Ting Hua-tien is a Taiwanese artistic gymnast. She is the 2019 Asian champion and the 2022 Asian Games bronze medalist on the balance beam. She competed at the 2020 Olympic Games, making her the first Taiwanese female gymnast to compete at an Olympic Games since 1968. Additionally she represented Chinese Taipei at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
