Gymnastics was contested at the 2015 Summer Universiade from July 4 to 13 at the Gwangju Women's University Gymnasium in Gwangju, South Korea. Artistic and rhythmic gymnastics were the two disciplines of gymnastics contested. [1]

At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, three disciplines of gymnastics were contested: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline. The artistic gymnastics and trampoline events were held at the Olympic Indoor Hall and the rhythmic gymnastics events were held at the Galatsi Olympic Hall.
The 2015 Summer Universiade was a Universiade held in the city of Gwangju, South Korea. It took place from July 3 to July 14, 2015. Gwangju also hostes the group matches of the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
Gymnastics was contested at the 2011 Summer Universiade from August 13 to August 22 at the Bao'an District Gym and the Futain Sports Park Gym in Shenzhen, China. Gymnastics competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from 11 to 20 July at the Ricoh Coliseum; due to naming rights the venue was known as the Toronto Coliseum for the duration of the games. The competition was split into three disciplines, artistic, rhythmic and trampoline. Women competed in all three disciplines whereas the men only took part in the artistic and trampoline competitions.

Gymnastics is a sport at the World University Games that was first contested in 1961 as an optional sport and turned compulsory sport in 1963 and since then it has been out of the program twice in 1975 and 1989. In 1973, for the first time a competition in apparatus was added to the program and would become mandatory in 1979. In 1991, rhythmic gymnastics was one of the two optional sports chosen by the organizers and was present with the same status in 1995 in 1997, becoming a compulsory sport in 2001. At the 2011 edition, aerobic gymnastics was also part of the program.
Artistic gymnastics was contested at the 2017 Summer Universiade from August 19 to 23, and rhythmic gymnastics was contested from August 27 to 29, both events was held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei, Taiwan.
