Ukraine competed at the 2015 Winter Universiade in Granada, Spain, and Štrbské Pleso/Osrblie, Slovakia. The Ukrainian team consisted of 52 athletes who competed in alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, figure skating, Nordic combined, short track speed skating, ski jumping, and snowboarding. The team was not represented in curling, freestyle skiing, and ice hockey. Ukraine won 5 medals and shared 13th rank with Austria.

Polissia National University is a university in Zhytomyr, Ukraine. The University provides specialists in the majority of national economic sectors in the Ukrainian Polesia. The university has some seven thousand students and is divided into eight faculties and 42 departments.
Figure skating at the 2019 Winter Universiade was held on March 7-9 at the Platinum Arena in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Medals were awarded in men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, ice dancing, and synchronized skating.

Serhiy Mykolayovych Shkarlet is a Ukrainian economist and politician. On 25 June 2020 he was assigned as acting Minister of Education and Science. On 17 December 2020, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Shkarlet as Minister of Education and Science. Parliament dismissed him 20 March 2023.

The country was represented in athletics, fencing (20), swimming (16), football (15), artistic gymnastics (10), diving (6), tennis (4), and rhythmic gymnastics (2). Ukraine did not compete in basketball, volleyball, and water polo. Ukraine was the most successful team in fencing, winning the most medals and a medal in each men's competition. Men's football team finished 4th.
