The Olympic Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It has a capacity of 50,000. Despite its name, the stadium has never hosted an Olympic Games.
The 2007 Southeast Asian Games (SEA) basketball tournaments was held at Keelapirom Stadium, Suranaree University of Technology at Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.
The men's basketball tournament at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, began on 29 July and ended on 12 August, when the United States defeated Spain 107–100 for the gold medal. All preliminary games were held at the Basketball Arena within the Olympic Park, while the knockout matches took place at The O2 Arena.

The men's tournament in Basketball at the 2013 SEA Games in Naypyidaw began on 8 December and ended on 16 December. All games were held in the Zayar Thiri Indoor Stadium which hosted both men's and women's tournaments. The Philippines successfully defended the title for the sixteenth time as they went undefeated in the competition.

The 2022 AFF U-23 Championship was the 3rd edition of the AFF U-23 Championship, organised by ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The tournament was held from 14 to 26 February in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Indonesia were the defending champions, having won the 2019 edition. The tournament was held amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Indonesia and Myanmar withdrew from the tournament after several of their players tested positive for COVID-19.

The 2022 FIBA U18 Women's Asian Championship was the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia at the 2023 FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup. The tournament, which was also the 25th edition of the biennial competition, was held in Bangalore, India from 5 to 11 September. The top four teams qualified and will represent FIBA Asia in the 2023 FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup in Spain.
