Dame Diagne (born July 29, 2005) is a Senegalese-Indonesian professional basketball player for the Satria Muda Pertamina of the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL). Diagne also plays point guard.

Early career

In his early career, Satria Muda legend, Dwui Eriano is someone who managed to discover Diagne's talent. [1] At that time he was playing basketball at his hometown Senegal and saw Diagne's talent, which he then brought to Indonesia. [2]

Personal life

He was naturalized as an Indonesian citizen in 2021 alongside Marques Bolden and Serigne Modou Kane. [3] [4]

Professional career

Indonesia Patriots

On his last season for the Indonesia Patriots in the 2023 season, Diagne averaged a double-double with 16.3 ppg and 10.7 rpg in 29 games. Previously, in the 2022 season, he also managed to score 10.8 ppg and 11 rpg in 22 matches. [5]

Satria Muda

On December 15, 2023, Diagne joins Satria Muda Pertamina after the disbandment of the Indonesia Patriots. [6] On June 9, 2024, Diagne made history as the youngest player to join the 1,000 points club. [7] He appeared to lead Satria Muda against Tangerang Hawks with 23 points and 8 rebounds from 8-of-13 shooting attempts during 22 minutes of play. In the third quarter, the eighteen year old completed his points record to 1,000 points. [8]

National team career

He won the gold medal with the Indonesia's national basketball team in the 2021 SEA Games at just 17 years of age. [9]

The 2021 Indonesian Basketball League was the sixth season since the re-branding by Starting5. The regular season began on 10 March 2021 and was ended with the Finals in June 2021. In this season there would be no official preseason tournament and all-star games, while throughout the season would be played inside a bubble in Bogor and Jakarta due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, every player, staff, and official must follow the strict health protocols implemented by the organizers.

The 2022 Indonesian Basketball League was the seventh season since the re-branding by Starting5. After successfully implemented the "bubble" system in last year's season, IBL decided to return into the Series format with the supporters are returning into stadium. The season would be held with implementing strict health protocols that recommended by the government. The regular season began on 15 January 2022 and was suspended on 2 February 2022 until 3 March 2022, then the remaining series at the regular season in Yogyakarta, Solo, Surabaya, Denpasar, as well as the post season in Bandung has been cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The series return again to "bubble" after many players get Covid-19.

The 2023 Indonesian Basketball League is the eighth season of Indonesian top domestic basketball league since the re-branding by Starting5. This season marked the 20th Anniversary of the IBL indonesia since its establishment in 2003.

The 2023–24 Indonesia Pro Futsal League, will be the 16th season of the Indonesia Pro Futsal League competition held by the Indonesia Futsal Federation, as well as the eighth season of futsal competition under the name Professional Futsal League. The season will start on 18 November 2023. It scheduled to end on 4 August 2024.
