Batam Harbour Bay Ferry Terminal is an international transport hub with shopping and restaurants in the center of Batam, Indonesia. [1] Located within Nagoya, Jodoh, it is 10 minutes drive away from Batam Nagoya city.
Since its opening in 2006, it has been serving an average of 45,000 visitors coming from Singapore every month. [1]
The ferry terminal is part of an integrated development by Citra Buana Prakarsa that includes [2] a hotel, [3] shopping, entertainment, [4] and apartments [5] near the terminal.
On 2014 September 5 and 6, it hosted the 7th Asean Jazz Festival sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia in collaboration with the Keppri Regional Government and Batam City Government. The Jazz Festival is held to increase foreign tourist visits. [6]
There is 12 daily voyage between Harbour Front Singapore to Harbour Bay Batam. Each trip lasts approx 45 minutes.
The terminal is served by Horizon Fast Ferry [7] and Batam Fast that commutes between Singapore Harbourfront and Batam.
Service also runs to nearby Rimau Island Karimun via MV Oceana Ferry. [8] or to Johor, Malaysia, Puteri Harbour Ferry Terminal, via Marine Hawk [9]
Connected to the terminal is BayFront Mall, Harbour Bay Residences, a Marriott hotel [10] and Harbour Bay Seafood area.

MV Doulos Phos is a retired ocean liner, and former cruise ship that held the record of being the world's oldest active ocean-faring passenger ship, serving from 1914 until December 2009. She is now owned by Eric Saw, director and chief executive of BizNaz Resources International Pte Ltd in Singapore. She was previously operated by the German charity Gute Bücher für Alle, and was used as a floating bookshop. The ship has previously been known as the SS Medina, the SS Roma, the MS Franca C, and the MV Doulos. The Doulos ended her final cruise in late 2009 at Singapore, with the ship being handed over to her new owners on 18 March 2010. The ship underwent a three year conversion into a luxury hotel that saw the ship mounted on dry land in nearby Bintan, Indonesia and opened in June 2019.

The sinking of MV Dumai Express 10 occurred on the morning of 22 November 2009 when a ferry carrying more than 300 people sank near the island of Iyu Kecil in Karimun Regency, Riau Islands during bad weather. Eyewitnesses reported that massive waves had struck the ferry repeatedly, causing the starboard side of the ship to crack. Subsequently, a considerable amount of water poured into the deck. By 9:55 a.m. the ferry was fully submerged.

The sinking of MV Marina Baru 2B occurred just after noon on 19 December 2015. The high speed vessel carrying 112 passengers and crew sank off the coast of Bone, South Sulawesi in inclement weather conditions. A nine-day search and rescue operation, conducted by authorities, successfully rescued 45 survivors and recovered 65 bodies from the sea. Twelve people were declared missing and presumed dead.
MV Lestari Maju was a modified 749 tonnes cargo ship that operated domestic passenger service from Bulukumba Regency to Selayar Islands in South Sulawesi. At noon on 3 July 2018, the ship was deliberately grounded off the Selayar Islands. The ferry had reportedly suffered a leak on the port side of the lower deck. As the ferry began to sink, the captain decided to ground the ferry to stop the sinking and ease the rescue effort. The incident killed 35 people; 155 people survived the accident.
On 28 September 2018, a shallow, large earthquake struck in the neck of the Minahasa Peninsula, Indonesia, with its epicentre located in the mountainous Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi. The magnitude 7.5 quake was located 70 km (43 mi) away from the provincial capital Palu and was felt as far away as Samarinda on East Kalimantan and also in Tawau, Malaysia. This event was preceded by a sequence of foreshocks, the largest of which was a magnitude 6.1 tremor that occurred earlier that day.

It is located north of governmental buildings of Batam and landmarks such as the Grand Mosque of Batam and Engku Putri Fountain.

Before serving as governor, he was briefly vice governor, and had served ten years as the regent of Karimun. In 2019, he was arrested by the Corruption Eradication Commission for receiving bribes.
