Nagoya, officially Lubuk Baja, is a district (kecamatan) in Batam, Indonesia, covering 11.426 square kilometers. [1] The population was 80,780 in 2010 Census, [2] while the official estimate of population was 86,277 in mid 2022. [3] However, like other fastest growing cities, Batam Island is becoming a continuous urban sprawl, making its districts denser. [4]
The town was dubbed "Nagoya" after the Japanese city by Japanese engineers from the Taisei Corporation, who came to Batam in the 1970s to work on infrastructure projects. [5]
The district (kecamatan) of Lubuk Baja, Batam, is divided into five villages (desa or kelurahan). [6] These are:
Most of the district's income comes from its business, entertainment, and tourism sector. The best known building is Nagoya Hill Mall, the biggest shopping mall in the district. [7] As a shopping area, it attracts many tourists and locals across the city every week. [7]
The other main sector is the food business. [8] Nagoya is known for its food quality and diversity, ranging from local cuisine to popular fast food restaurants, mostly in the mall. [8] [9]
Nagoya is also home to many shopping stores and retails. Home appliance stores, fashion boutiques, and electronic stores are common in the area, mostly concentrated in the mall and its surroundings. [7]
Most of its tourism comes from hotels. There are numerous hotels in this district, ranging from 2 to 4-star. [7]
The Nagoya Entertainment District (NED) consists of bars, massage parlors, clubs, hotels, and brothels. [10]
Alor is the largest island in the Alor Archipelago and is one of the 92 officially listed outlying islands of Indonesia. It is located at the eastern end of the Lesser Sunda Islands chain that runs through southeastern Indonesia, which from the west include such islands as Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Komodo, and Flores.

The Lingga Regency is a group of 600 islands in Indonesia, located south of Singapore and along both sides of the equator, off the eastern coast of Riau Province on Sumatra island. They are due south of the populated Riau Archipelago, known for the industrial island of Batam and the tourist-frequented island of Bintan, although the Lingga Islands themselves are rarely visited due to the infrequent local transportation. The equator goes through the northern tip of Lingga Island, the main island in the archipelago.
Deli Serdang is a regency in the Indonesian province of North Sumatra. Nagekeo Regency is a regency on the island of Flores in East Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia, comprising the Nage people in the south and the Keo in the north. It covers an area of 1,377.04 km2 and had a population of 130,120 at the 2010 Census, and 159,732 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 166,968. The regency was established on 2 January 2007 by separation of the former eastern districts from Ngada Regency; it has its administrative seat (capital) in the town of Mbay on the north coast of Flores. East Manggarai Regency is a regency in East Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia. Established on 17 July 2007, the regency has its seat (capital) in the town of Borong. It covers a land area of 2,438.68 km2. The population at the 2010 Census was 252,754, and at the 2020 Census was 275,603; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 310,822.
Kota Sumenep, officially the Kota Sumenep District, is a town and district which serves as the regency seat of Sumenep Regency, East Java, Indonesia. It is the second smallest and populated district in Sumenep Regency, with an area of 27.84 square kilometres and the population of 75,367 as of 2023. The administrative capital is Pamolokan. On 29 June 2004, part of the Kota Sumenep District was expanded into a separate district, namely Batuan District.
Sukmajaya is a town and an administrative district (kecamatan) within the city of Depok, in the province of West Java, Indonesia, within the Jakarta metropolitan area. It covers an area of 17.37 km2 and had a population of 232,308 at the 2010 Census and 252,500 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 is 256,060. It is one of the most densely populated areas in Depok. Many housing areas and educational institutions are located in this district. Beji is a town and an administrative district (kecamatan) within the city of Depok, in the province of West Java, Indonesia, within the Jakarta metropolitan area. It covers an area of 14.56 km2 and had a population of 165,903 at the 2010 Census and 171,700 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 is 171,660. The University of Indonesia, Gunadarma University, Bina Sarana Informatika and Jakarta State Polytechnic are located in this area.
