Battle of the Babes (Also known as Vidyartha College - St. Sylvester's College Cricket Encounter) is an annual Big Match played between Vidyartha College and St. Sylvester's College since 1958 Annually; except for 3 years due to unavoidable circumstances. [1] Otherwise, it has been now played for 64 years. [2]
This traditional Big Match has been played Annually since 1958; except for 3 years due to unavoidable circumstances. [1] As of 2024, 64 Big Matches and 35 One-Day Matches have been played between Vidyartha College and St. Sylvester's College. [2] Out of the 64 Big Matches, St. Sylvester's College has won 16 matches and Vidyartha College has won 3 matches while, 45 matches were drawn.

Asgiriya Stadium, is a cricket ground located in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Uniquely owned by Trinity College, Kandy, it is conveniently situated a short distance away from the city centre. Historically, it was a prominent venue for Test matches when international teams toured Sri Lanka. Asgiriya gained fame as the country's second Test cricket ground in 1982–83 when it hosted Greg Chappell's Australian team, following in the footsteps of the Paikiasothy Saravanamuttu Stadium.

The Bradby Shield Encounter, colloquially referred to as The Bradby, is an event within Sri Lanka's school rugby union season. The Battle of the Saints is the annual cricket contest between St. Joseph's College and St Peter's College in Colombo, Sri Lanka, which typically takes place in March. Inaugurated in 1933 by the Rectors of both schools and has since become a highly anticipated event, attracting significant media coverage and enthusiastic supporters. Since 2016, which is the 82nd encounter, both teams compete for the Reverend Father Maurice Legoc Trophy, named after the tournament's founder.

In 2008 St. Joseph's college won the match, which ended a 35-year drought, and in 2010 St. Peter's won the match after 32 years.
In the series the highest score is recorded by St Joseph’s college, which is 382, made back in 1982, led by Ken Serpanchy, while St. Peter's college best being 345 for 9 in 1938 under Percy Perera.

The John Halangoda Memorial Trophy is bestowed upon the victor of the match, determined by either an outright win or, failing that, a first innings triumph. It is noteworthy that a first innings victory does not formally register as a win for the respective team in the records.

Dharmadutha College, is a national Buddhist school in Badulla, Sri Lanka. It was established as the English Buddhist School by Colonel Henry Steel Olcott in 1891. The school was registered as a government-benefited School in 1984.
