Design and development

The Bico was designed for dual instruction and as such it features easy handling and optional wheeled landing gear. [1] [2]

Flight training training of aircraft pilots and aircrew

Flight training is a course of study used when learning to pilot an aircraft. The overall purpose of primary and intermediate flight training is the acquisition and honing of basic airmanship skills.

Landing gear aircraft part which supports the aircraft while not in the air

Landing gear is the undercarriage of an aircraft or spacecraft and may be used for either takeoff or landing. For aircraft it is generally both. It was also formerly called alighting gear by some manufacturers, such as the Glenn L. Martin Company.

The aircraft is made from aluminum tubing, with the wing top surface covered in 205 gram Power LL polyester and the bottom surface plain polyester sailcloth. Its 9.6 m (31.5 ft) span wing is cable braced from a single tube-type kingpost. The wing's nose angle is 132°. [1] [2]

Polyester category of polymers

Polyester is a category of polymers that contain the ester functional group in their main chain. As a specific material, it most commonly refers to a type called polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Polyesters include naturally occurring chemicals, such as in the cutin of plant cuticles, as well as synthetics such as polybutyrate. Natural polyesters and a few synthetic ones are biodegradable, but most synthetic polyesters are not. The material is used extensively in clothing.

The aircraft only comes in one size, a wing area of 17.2 m2 (185 sq ft). [1] [2]

The wing is used on the PowerTrike Light-Delta nanotrike. [3]
