Bayar Abubakir (born 31 May 1990) is an Iraqi Kurdish footballer who plays as a defender for Duhok in Iraqi Premier League. [1]
On 24 July 2016, Bayar Abubakir made his first international cap with Iraq against Uzbekistan in a friendly match. He scored the only goal for Iraq in a 2-1 defeat.

Erbil won the title by defeating Al-Najaf in the final via penalty shootout after a goalless draw. It was Erbil's third league title in a row. The two teams would have qualified for the 2010 AFC Cup, but were disqualified due to FIFA's suspension of the Iraq Football Association.

The match was contested between the Baghdad rivals, Al-Zawraa and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, at Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad. It was played on 29 May 2016 to be the final match of the competition. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya made their 7th appearance in the Iraq FA Cup final while Al-Zawraa extended their record to 16 final appearances. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya won the match 2–0 with goals from Bashar Rasan and Humam Tariq, for the club's 4th title.

Salahaddin XI beat Baghdad Karkh XI in the final on 27 September to win the tournament.
